Chapter Two (Ep 3)

-- Asch Pov --

 As I pull myself from the uncomfortable mattress, I hear sounds coming from outside, walking over, I notice humans already going about their day. Disgust fills my face as I try to figure out how they live on this planet, sighing, I walk around the uncomfortable mattress before stopping in front of Noi. He is sleeping on the ground, his back against the ground, as well as his daggers in a reachable spot, there was no one to stop me, everyone else was asleep. Both my knights, as well as the prisoner. 

 I grab Noi's dagger, before walking back to the prisoner's door, opening it without a second thought. Looking at my knights for a second before walking in and shutting the door behind me, only to be caught off guard by what I saw.

-- Pierce Pov --

 "Asch hasn't been acting normal," Leif said, his voice coming from my left, I take a deep breath before responding.

 "Yes."

 "Don't you think it's weird how docile we've been since getting here?" He inquires, "normally, Asch wouldn't listen so easily and acted long before now... I wonder what's going on."

 It doesn't take me long before I come up with my answer, not that I had much to say, nor an answer that would please him, "something changed, it's not our place to ask."

 "Your unquestioning loyalty is disgusting," he scoffs, I mentally roll my eyes, adjusting my grip on my sword.

 "I do not expect a former assassin to understand loyalty," I growl, my nose scrunching a tiny bit.

 "Oh, yeah, fun times..." he takes a minute before continuing, "we should wake up Rhys before Asch does something stupid, huh?" He questions, I nod while answering.

 "Yes."

-- Asch Pov --

 I stand before the prisoner with Noi's dagger in hand, my eyes flickering from her back to the other human's resting body, confusion evident on my face, choosing to ignore the other human, I do what I originally planned to do.

 "Human, your sacrifice will be remembered," bringing the blade out and over my shoulder, I was about to lower it when I was hit with something, whatever it was, was strong enough to prevent me from killing the humans. I lower the dagger and look around the room, hoping to find the mysterious creature, the only thing I found was an angry Rhys when I looked at the doors.

 He seems confused about the other human in the prisoner's bed, but neither of us commented on it, "your majesty, put down the knife!" He whisper-shouts at me, scoffing, I answer but I'm not whispering.

 "Why should I?"

 "Knives kill humans."

 "And...?"

 He sighs, covering his mouth with his hands for a few seconds, gathering himself so as to not yell while in the presence of the sorcerer and the new human. "Your majesty, I'm all for your way of doing things, but now isn't the time. One human isn't going to solve the entire magic crisis, nor is the new human, we need to-"

 "Which part is most tender to stab?" I interrupt him, looking back down at the human in front of me before looking back at Rhys when hearing him speak.

 "Don't wake her up, she tried to kill me last night." The anger on his face was quite evident, I mentally smirk. Soon, Noi comes walking in, yawning, he must have just woken.

 "Hey, have you guys seen one of my daggers around? It's missing," he says, why is it so difficult for him to wake up in the morning?

 "Quiet Noi, you'll wake her!" He scolds, Noi looks at the prisoner before his eyes caught sight of the new human.

 "Woah, who's she?" He walks close to the bed, walking around to the far corner from the door as he investigates the new human.

-- Noi Pov --

 This new human looks pretty, the human looks to be female with h/c hair, I wonder what her eyes look like. The sorcerer starts to move, groaning a little as well, causing worry to fill me as well as the rest of the Daemos. What will she do when she wakes up and sees us in her room? The room she specifically told us not to go in!

 "Good job Rhys, she's going to kill us," I whisper, quickly making my way back over to the doorway and staring at Rhys with wide eyes.

 "You said she seemed kind," he said back, his eye brows were furrowed together.

 "But she told us not to come in here," I said, looking between the other knights. Asch turned to us, worry more evident now.

 "She's going to wake!" He says, sorcerer Ava makes a noise and Pierce walks over, calm as ever and pats her head softly, after a few pats, she's back to sleep. We all sigh in relief and were about to walk out of her sleeping chambers when Asch protested.

 "I could have killed her, you know," he said.

 "Yes," Pierce answered, Rhys huffed.

 "Get out, now," Rhys said, and we all walked out of the room.
