It turned out that Seungcheol's intel was wrong, and the members of Nu'Est were not available to look after Yeonjun. All five members busy with their own solo activities. However Aaron did tell Soobin that they were all free the following day if Yeonjun was still sick.
Soobin sighed as he pondered his options. BTS and Seventeen were both busy with their own schedules, so he couldn't ask either of them again. Yeonjun seemed to be doing better today, so doing promotions today could be an option, but he didn't want to risk his hyung throwing up on camera.
The leader had three options. Get one of the managers to look after Yeonjun, let Yeonjun stay home alone and hope he actually rests, or ask their hoobae group Enhypen if they're free. There was no way he was asking their manager to babysit a twenty three year old and he really didn't think that Yeonjun would actually stay home, so he went with option three and texted Jungwon asking if the group had the day off. When he got an affirmative response, he, in turn, responded that they'd be swinging by their dorm in about half an hour.
Jungwon stared at his phone a bit confusedly before being brought out of the stupor by one of his hyungs. "What's wrong Wonnie?" Jake asked. "I'm not sure, hyung. Soobin hyung just asked me if we have schedules today and when I said no he responded that him and the others are going to swing by in like thirty minutes. Which is odd because I know they're in the middle of promotions right now." As the duo were talking about why the TXT members would be paying them a visit, there was a knock on the door.
Jungwon got up to answer it. Before he could properly greet the older group, Soobin spoke first. "Sorry for intruding on your day off, but Yeonjun has been pretty sick all week and we can't leave him alone, so would you guys be willing to watch him today?" Jungwon, not entirely sure what to do with the bombardment of info he just received, merely nodded. He then opened the door wider so that Yeonjun could enter.
"Guys, for the last time I don't need a babysitter." Yeonjun tried to protest, only being met with exasperated glares from the others. "BTS hyungs would say otherwise. You're staying with Enhypen today hyung, and if you're doing better tomorrow, then maybe you can come to our next schedule." Soobin said, no room for argument. The four members then left, leaving Yeonjun in the hands of a very confused Jungwon.
Jungwon led Yeonjun to the living room where the rest of the members were. They were all a bit surprised to see Yeonjun was in the dorm. "So apparently hyung is sick and we're watching him today while his members attend promotion schedules." Jungwon told the members.
"What are you sick with, Yeonjun hyung?" Sunghoon asked. Yeonjun sighed as he sat down on the couch. "I caught a stomach bug about a week ago, but I'm doing much better now. I haven't puked in over twelve hours. I can totally go back to work." The others stared at him incredulously.
"Yeah, no. Until you've gone at least twenty-four hours without puking, you're still too sick to work" Jay said as he put his hand on the elder's forehead. "Given that you also still have a fever, which also needs to be gone for at least twenty-four hours, you're staying here until your members pick you up." The other six members nodded in agreement.
In truth, Yeonjun was feeling much better than he had the past few days. He really didn't want to spend another day just lazing around a dorm, when he's certain that his body is finally on the mend. What does it matter that one of his dongsaengs says he still has a fever. If he's feeling well enough to eat actual food, which he is, he should be able to practice.
After spending the morning sitting on Enhypen's couch, watching cartoons, Yeonjun decided to try and get his dongsaengs to let him go to the company to practice. He knew that they'd text Soobin or someone else if he were to leave without permission, so he decided to talk to his dongsaengs.
He found Heeseung in the kitchen making bulgogi and kimchi. He was also making some soup and rice on the side. From what it looked like the eldest Enhypen member was almost done making lunch, so Yeonjun washed his hands and sat at the table, waiting for the others to join.
"So, I have a proposition for you guys. If I'm able to eat all of the lunch Heeseung prepared and keep it down, can I go to the company and get some practice in?" Yeonjun asked. The members of Enhypen had a silent conversation before Jake spoke. "If you can keep the food down, but you have to take multiple full bites of the food, not just a bite or a couple nibbles." Yeonjun grinned in victory as he put a small serving of each dish on his plate.
Yeonjun managed to clean his plate, which he was quite proud of, considering that he had spent the last week essentially on a liquid diet. He then went back to the couch to let the food begin digesting and see if he'd be able to keep it down. Seeing as he had been feeling quite good all morning and last puked like eighteen hours ago, he was pretty confident that the food would stay down.
It turns out Yeonjun was definitely still sick. After only ten minutes, his stomach started to feel quite heavy. He burped a couple of times into his fist, trying to keep the nausea at bay. On the third burp, he felt some stuff climb to the top of his throat and swallowed it down before hastily getting up and calling out for one of his Dongsaengs.
Sunoo was the first one in the room, and upon seeing Yeonjun's green appearance, he quickly ushered the elder to the bathroom. Yeonjun quickly put up the lid of the toilet and crouched down in front of it as his stomach emptied itself of the lunch it barely had time to begin digesting. "Yeah, hyung, you're going to stay on the couch until your member pick you up."
Yeonjun spent another minute getting sick in the toilet before leaning away. "Come on hyung, let's get you back to the couch. Then maybe you can take a nap." Yeonjun nodded as got up from the floor. He swayed a little bit and Sunoo was quick to support him. He then helped Yeonjun back to the couch where Riki and Jungwon were waiting.
"Hyung, I made some tea and Riki reheated some soup if you want to try eating again." Yeonjun shook his head and muttered something about sleep before laying down on the couch and closing his eyes.
"-not well. Although he might have just pushed himself too far by eating food he wasn't yet ready to eat." Yeonjun could knew that one of the Enhypen members was talking about him. Who was talking about him and with whom, he didn't know. He wasn't quite ready to open his eyes yet.
"Got it. To be on the safe side, keep him home for one more day. I'll text Aaron sunbaenim to work out details about Nu'est watching him tomorrow. We have the weekend off, so regardless of how he is tomorrow, he'll have the weekend to continue recuperating."
Yeonjun groaned awake upon hearing he would be getting babysat by Nu'Est tomorrow. He'd much rather be watched by one of the groups that's already watched him instead being looked after by the most senior group under Pledis and technically Hybe as well.
"Soobin, I don't want to be babysat anymore. I promise I can look after myself." Yeonjun said as he got up to stretch, only to hunch over as his stomach began cramping. "Sure you can hyung. You just need to start actually listening to your body and rest first. Nu'Est sunbaenims are taking care of you tomorrow and that's final. We can discuss you being by yourself the next time you're this sick." Soobin said as he placed a garbage can right next to his hyung, who began dry heaving over it almost immediately.
He didn't need to puke though this time. He just spent a minute dry heaving before leaning back against the couch. "Can we go back to the dorm now?" The sickie asked. Soobin nodded, and once again he was helped up by two of his members and they all left the Enhyupen dorm. There was a chorus of well wishes being said to him from behind. Yeonjun was really hoping that the bug is almost out of his system. That last thing he wants is to cause Nu'Est sunbaenim more problems than he already has.
