Mugsy and Toots

••••

Come with me to the Inkwell Isles, it's just off the coast, maybe 29 miles
Where there's good and there's bad and there's the in-between
With Cuphead, Mugman, Y/n, you'll see what I mean

Ice cream and rocket trouble never ends!
Watch these ding-dongs as they make new friends!
They'll need some help just to stay on track
Oh no! There's that guy you better watch your back!

So, if you're looking for fun!
Yes, we're looking for fun!

With the dash of heebie-jeebies!
We got the heebie-jeebies!

Pack your bags and let's go!
Welcome to the Cuphead Show!

Welcome to the Cuphead Show!

THE TWO BROTHERS HAVE BEEN bored out of their minds for the past few days. Well, mostly Cuphead as he laid on his couch, his head hanging upside down as he stared at the floor in pure boredom. Mugman in the meanwhile, had been reading a book on the kitchen table, enjoying the peace and quiet inside the cottage for once.

Cuphead sighs loudly, "I'm so boreddd!" He trails off. He hasn't seen Y/n ever since the whole "Roll the Dice" incident and since then, Mugman had avoided talking to the girl. Not even wanting to be in the same room as her, with Y/n feeling the exact same way as him.

Cuphead tried to talk to his brother about what happened when Elder Kettle dragged him away from the two, only for him to not bulge and respond with, "I don't want to talk about it, Cuphead." And it was the same with Y/n. When Cuphead had called her the other day wanting the three to hang out, she responded with, "I'd love to hang out with you Cuphead, but I think it's best if I don't talk to Mugman for a long time."

Mugman never kept something so secretive from him and Y/n rarely calls Mugman by his actual name, so it must've been a big deal. Cuphead began to sit on his spot and began to think, what if he could bring the two to be close again? Beats staying home bored out of his mind at least.

As Cuphead began to stand up, he glances at his brother to see if he was watching him, only for Mugman to have his nose stuck in the book. Cuphead sneakily tiptoes towards the stairs. He looks at the deck of stairs as he began to sweat drop, knowing how it'll sometimes make noises. Hesitantly, he places a foot down, closing his eye to see if a noise was made.

Once he heard pure silence, he smiles as he slowly walks up the stairs. "Alright, one more to go." Cuphead whispers as he places a foot down, a small creak was then heard. Cuphead's eyes widen as he stayed in place, mentally hoping that Mugman didn't hear anything. Using the railing, he uses one of hands to detach his head from his body, using his other hand to hold onto the railing, as he skims over, he notices Mugman still reading his book, as if he hadn't heard a single noise.

Cuphead attaches his head to his body as he sighs in relief, smiling as he runs towards his room. He closes his door as he began to pace around his room, "First step, get them to be in the same place..." Cuphead ponders. It should be a place they both enjoy being. But what?

As he was walking, he stopped when he felt his foot stepping on something. He raises his brow as he picked up the paper, he smiles in realization. "Of course!" Cuphead cheers. The paper was a promotion for a new dessert that will be serving for a limited time offer at a nearby cafe. While the cup was admittedly inconsistent half the time, he knew that it was their favorite go-to place.
