Dark hair...

Blue face...

...She's an imperfect girl, the perfect girl for me....

Light hair..

......Brown or grey..

...Just know that you're perfect..

.....You're the perfect thing for me..........

"Y/N!"

Your listening sesh is rudely interrupted by Rebecca, your best friend since middle school. She quickly grabs your hand and you both walk to school.

"Sooo...prom!" Rebecca hesitantly brings up out of the blue.

"I'm going with Jay, what about you Bec?" You say, a warming grin appearing on your face.

"I was thinking between Greg or John, Greg because he IS captain of the football team, but then John because he's really good at pre-calc and I lowkey need the help this year.." Rebecca rambles as she starts listing the pros and cons between each boy. You giggle, sporadically intervening with your opinion on each one of them and ultimately telling her to push towards Greg. The conversation makes time pass fast, by the time you guys come to a conclusion about who she should take to prom, you both already arrive at school.

School is the one place in your life that makes you feel...uncomfortable to say the least. Your social life is sky rocketing, you're dating one of the hottest guys in the whole building, and you have more friends than you can keep track of. Despite all of that, it feels almost as if it's all fake. You never really could be yourself in school, or to anyone in that matter, you always felt like the black sheep from the rest of the flock, so to avoid immediate blockade of interaction, you faked it till you made it, and made it you did.

You walk with Rebecca till you get to your first period class, history.

"Bye Y/N!" Rebecca exclaims as she leaves your side, suddenly noticing Greg and joining his.

You sigh in relief as you enter the room. You make sure too position your posture in a way to exclaim confidence, you don't want people to think otherwise, right?  You sit right next to your boyfriend, Jay. You and Jay are the new talk of the month, last week he popped the question. You grin as big as you can to him, waiting for him to ultimately return the look.

"There's my girl." Jay softly calls out as he kisses you on the cheek gently.

"Mr. Davis, what did we say about PDA in the classroom?" The history teacher yells, directing his finger to signal for Jay to sit.

You giggle softly as you bring your attention to the lesson.

Lunch rolls around fast, you calmly walk down the school hallways heading towards the outdoor lunch seats surrounding your school. You sit down at the usual table, with all the so called "popular kids" as you cuddle next to your boyfriend.

"I was thinking of getting this dress, but this one makes my boobs look bigger and hides the unevenness of them, don't you think?" Daisy says to Rebecca, holding her phone with an expensive dress shop opened up.

"That one shows your stomach too much, and lord knows you bloat when you drink.." Rebecca replies back to Daisy

Daisy shakes off Rebecca's reply and puts her phone down.

The table grows silent until you break it suddenly.

"The proms on Sunday, you guys ready?"

The table lights up again, chatting, excitement and giggles roam across the table as everyone shares their plans. You and Jay already knew what was going to happen during that night. You get ready at 4, he arrives at 6:30, you arrive at the prom at 7, party till 11, and then fuck till 12. Seems like a good plan in retrospect but for my mental health not so much. You look at your boyfriend with excitement fulfilling both of your eyes. You refocus your eyes to the conversations at the table until the bell rings.

You begin walking home, your boyfriend and 4 friends surrounding you. You're chatting and laughing with them all, enjoying your social hive. This continues till the group suddenly grows smaller and smaller as they all arrive at their houses. It becomes just you and Jay, you hold his hand to warm up yours and you continue walking to your house.

"I'm really excited for the dance Y/N." Jay softly remarks.

"I'm nervous Jay." You admit, looking down at the rough concrete.

"I don't see why babe, you're totally winning prom queen, you're like the most fawned upon thing at this school. You're overthinking again." He says, slowly putting his arm over my shoulder.

"Thanks love...I get it." You reply back, lying through your teeth.

He holds you close to him till he lets you go when you both arrive at your house. He gently places his lips on yours as you wave gently and enter your house.
