Adnan

Silence!

So peaceful!

I drew a long breath before intaking a large amount of the air, still, the town's familiar scent fills up my nostrils and I felt to puke when a sudden burst of anxiety rolled down to my guts. I kept my eyes on the silent town, darkness was swathing the whole area and a mist of joy engulf my heart. It was good. Just the way I want, silent and dark. This town deserves nothing but silence and darkness. Nothing less and nothing more. It was good to see fear in people's eyes. It was good to hear them crying for their family.

" Having fun alone? " I heard a familiar voice drop in my ears, an urge to peek a stare at him. But I couldn't.

" It depends. " I whispered, taking a large amount of puff from my cigarette but it got snatched by him.

" Is it?... On what? " I sighed, through my nose finally turned at him with a firm expression.

" On you. If you're not here to arrest me for crimes I never did. " I glared at him when he laughed sarcastically.

" Your fear is strong and it makes sense. " He handed me back my cigarette, if I was in other circumstances and with someone else, I would have smashed it on his face but my bad.

" Is she knows?...who you're and what's your relationship with Eden? " I shoot him a glare but, he was in a mood.

" Don't you dare Zain? " His laugh dies and he put on a serious face. " She's better off knowing...at least not right now. " I whispered, keeping my eyes on the town. We were standing at the edge of the cliff from where the whole town can be seen. So beautiful but its ugly side makes me feel disgusted. This town cares only about gossip and their fake magnificence.

I snap my head at Zain who was watching me, with a wary expression. His eyes were dim beneath the blanket of moonlight. His muscle jaw twisted as it clenched. " I'm sorry. " My guts twisted brutally at his words and I almost let my beast snarl at him, openly. I held myself back. " I know, it's just a word. But I mean it. Words can turn out meaningful if they're meant to be said and heart to accept. Adnan..."

" You just want to light your weighty heart, that's it. " My sharp words indeed cut him off but he remained, calm and soft.

" Yeah! Somewhere you're right. But I'm never in his or anyone's favor. I would never justify what horrible thing they did..."

" So you know. " I chuckled, bitterly. An urge soothed inside me to burst into rage or gush of emotion but I wasn't this weak. " I don't want your sympathy, Zain. I don't. " He kept staring at me, with his glassy eyes. I was hoping to not ask but I did. " How far you came to know? " Ounce part of me wanted, he denied, that he doesn't know the disgusting part of my life but a tear fell from his eyes and I got my answer.

" They deserve it, " I visibly flinched at his words. My eyes glued on him who was gritting his teeth on his bottom lip. " They all deserve it. "

" I hope you're not trying to make me confess..." I cut off when he chuckled, his deep and throaty voice dipping into a salty gag-filled the cliff as he whispered. " Don't try to convince me, Adnan. " I let go of my breath in frustration and stared at the town.

" You know, it's not only Dianna's father who's my enemy. " I whispered, not even hissing when the cigarette smolder my finger as I jerk it off between my fingers and smashed it beneath my leather shoe. Zain was quiet as I expected but a heartbeat later he whisper. " I told you, they all deserve it and when I said, all of them. It means all of them. Anyway, I'm not doing this for you. " My eyes met his glassy eyes when he added. " Neither for Dianna. I'm doing this for Eden. " My guts has been explode, and my heart clenches at the name.
