Most Ideas for story's don't come from sitting down and saying: I WILL THINK OF AN IDEA. No, that is not how it works...well not for me. I get my ideas from reading other books or just dreaming.
When you have an Idea, it doesn't have to be perfect. You can work on it. And yes, it needs time, which a lot of us don't have. But let me tell you one thing: DONT GIVE UP!
If you don't want to forget an Idea: Write. It. Down! If on your phone or just a little peace paper. Even if you wake up from an interesting dream, jump out of bed and grab a pencil.
The possibility that it is complete bullshit, when you read it the next day is huge.
Nights: BLOCKBUSTER, HORRORFILM, HIGH-FANTASY
in the Morning: A STORY ABOUT...talking bananas? Really brain? Ugh, let's throw it away.
This is completely normal. Don't stress out. Try, try, try. One day, you will have a story.
Good luck soldier. You can do it!
