Servamp: In Our Next Life

Prologue (I)

The Alicein mansion had 7 more vampires than usual.

Well technically 8 but one of them had wandered off in favor of giving the servamp siblings some privacy.

"Pride Nii-san~!" Tsubaki sang clapping Old Child on the shoulder. "How was your trip?"

"It was most excellent! An experience befitting the great- such as I!" Old Child replied. He asked, "And how have the rest of you been?"

"Good, just peachy!"

The oldest of the group huffed quietly knees curled up to his chest far in his corner of the room, but made no move to correct Tsubaki.

Lawless leaned over and nudged him, keeping a careful eye out to make sure he wasn't catching anyone else's attention. He whispered, "Oi Sloth Nii-san... you should know what the rest of them are like by now. At least make it less obvious so they don't get upset at you."

"...let them get upset. It's a pain... but... pretending is even more of a pain..."

"Sloth Nii-san-"

"Ah haha!" All of Love interrupted, having noticed the pair whispering in the corner. "And Gluttony Nii-san? Did you enjoy Greece?"

"Did I ever!" World End replied. "The food there was amazing as ever!" He grinned and slung an arm over All of Love's shoulders. "And you? Heard you got a new eve All of Love!"

All of Love smiled and replied, "Yes. The mansion's second young master turned 8 just last week, which was decided to be the age old enough for a contract. Since the first young master refused a contract, I was free to contract the second."

"I haven't congratulated you yet All of Love!" Old Child proclaimed. "Well done for finding a new eve!"

The rest of the servamps also offered their congratulations, though Lawless's muttered congratulations came with a glare and crossed arms, and Sleepy Ash flatout remained silent.

"Ah haha..." All of Love dismissed. "It's not really an accomplishment... all I did was stay at the mansion and the contract came to me..."

"So what's your contract item?" World End asked. "Are we allowed to see it?"

"Ah haha..." All of Love replied awkwardly, worried eyes darting around the room. "Uh... wouldn't you rather see me strip in-"

"No one needs to see that All of Love," The Mother reprimanded. She frowned. "Is something wrong with your contract item?"

"I... I... just don't think it's... a good idea... to... to take it out now..."

Tsubaki gasped putting a hand on his chest as if shot. He whined, "Lust Nii-san~!! I'm not gonna do anything I'm reformed!! Jeez... the lack of trust- from my own brother!!"

"It's not that Tsubaki it's... uh... never mind," All of Love replied. He pulled an object out of his pocket. "This is what he gave me."

Everyone froze.

Sitting between All of Love's fingers was a golden pocket watch, complete with a golden chain. Its slow ticking filled the room until All of Love tucked it back in his coat pocket.

"...I'm sorry for making it awkward."

"No..." Sleepy Ash corrected. "It's not you..." For the first time since entering the room he looked at All of Love properly and asked, "Are you okay...?"

All of Love chuckled. He answered easily, "Of course. It's... you'd be surprised how many pocket watches the mansion has. It doesn't mean much that he happened to..."

"...I see."

"A- anyway!!" Old Child pivoted hurriedly. "We don't know your current name yet All of Love!! What did he call you?"
