"So, you thought that it would be okay to just appear?" Vincenzo question Francis, as I continued to dab at his injuries. "I always do, Vin. This isn't rare anymore"

Vincenzo wanted to believe that coming home would make everything so different. 5 years changes people, Vin, especially you of all people.

"I don't even want to know how you got this battered up" and with that, he walked out of the room, as I continued to disinfect Francis's wounds. He didn't flinch; he never did. He was the one that felt no pain.

"Children" our mother just had to walk right in through the front door, pretending like she hadn't left Ingrid for 3 weeks without a mother. That was what I heard from Ingrid, and I believed her more than anyone in this room.

We all just forgot about her as she walked off to some other place in the house, hopefully far away from me so that she didn't have to be the one that got on the end of my wrath.

"Thanks, Ace" he never said any words of gratitude to anyone, only on the rare occasion to Ingrid, but to anyone else, it was like you were walking on fire around him.

"Just don't do it again" I knew what they were going to say. That I can never take any words of gratitude or comments that actually meant well. "Aww Acey boy, you can't handle a small amount of gratitude?" Vincent came and shook my shoulders.

It didn't have the same affect it had on me two years ago because I was much taller than what I was back then. "Fuck off" and with that, I walked out of the room.

I wasn't necessarily annoyed at my brothers, just Vincenzo. He was being a real pain in the asse. He never came to find me, just left me alone like usual. It shouldn't have hurt like it did 5 years ago compared to 2 years ago when I could care less if he knew that I was going to boarding school.

I guess I didn't care if he knew or not, because what damage would it cause to his lifestyle? nothing, so why should it damage my own? I have my own life to live, and I shouldn't always just be his little shadow.

My other brothers always joked about me being Vincenzo little shadow. Some people used to think I was his child, but nowadays, I would rather punch him in that fucking perfect face.

"Ace, help me to my room, will you?" my father's voice sounded from downstairs, making me almost flinch. I hated that voice. He had ruined whatever I had, so he could live whatever life he had with my mother now.

"Of course, father" I walked agonizingly slow back down the stairs I had sub-consciously started to walk back up too to my room.

I took in every inch of his body. He looked like he was on the verge of dying. He couldn't support his own small body without the crutches either side of him. What had happened to my father who used to chastise everything about everyone.
