Captain Material - Part 2

(3rd Person POV) 

"Hey Kia I'm really sorry." Alex said while the three glumly walked back to the clubhouse. "I really thought he would think having you on the team would be a great idea.

"Don't sweat it. It's okay." Kiara said in a pretty monotone voice while Alex opened the door for her and Daniel. 

"Maybe once we get a few practices without me under the teams belt I'll talk to coach again." Daniel says. "Maybe he just needs time to get over my stupid injury."

"Yeah I guess." She says before walking over to sit at a table with Brooke and Sophie.

"Eagles! House meeting, now!" Daniel says walking to the front of the room while Parker walked up and stood next to Daniel. "Louis says we need a new captain, so I was thinking how about this handsome gentleman standing right next to me. What do yall say?" He received a few 'yeahs' from the Eagles "So if we're all cool with this, lets just get through the formality's, raise hands, vote for Parker."

"Wow Daniel." Sophie scoffed from behind the couch while a the majority of Eagles raised their hands. "Such a democratic procedure."

"We're voting." Daniel said obviously. "That's a Democracy right?"

"Not when there's only one candidate." She said.

"Okay. Anyone else want to be captain?" Daniel asked a room full of quiet Eagles. "No? Well okay Parker, you are officially-"

"Wait!" Sophie cut Daniel off. "I want to run."

"You?" Daniel says. "For captain?"

"Yeah is there a problem?" Sophie asked.

"No, course not." Daniel responded quickly to not give off the wrong impression. "Knock yourself out."

"Alright cool. So lets start campaigning and have a proper vote." Sophie says. "Who ever is elected will be the captain. Good luck, to both of us."

"May the best man win." Parker said while Kiara put her arm on Sophies shoulders.

"Or woman." Kiara added with a smile.

Sophie, along with Brooke and Kiara got immediately to work. They printed huge 'Vote for Sophie' posters and flyers listing all the things she wants to change at the Greenhouse. 

"Hey Tony." Brooke says approaching him and some other students on the couches. "Did you know Sophie supports clean, organic food and promises to push curfew an hour later for all students. You can go to her blog to check out the rest of her platform."

"So your campaigning against me?" Daniel asks.

"I'm not against you I'm for Sophie." Brooke says.

"And what about loyalty?" Daniel follows up.

"Babe, I'm loyal to you but your not a candidate." Brooke reasons with him. 

"But Parkers my candidate." Daniel reminded her.

"Parkers great, and I love him but you and I both know he's not captain material." Brooke says.

"I see." Daniel says annoyed. "Well you'll see, Parker will be the best captain."

"Yo D." Parker says joining the conversation. He holds up a hand written sign reading 'It was darker, then came Parker' "It's good isn't it?"

"It's good isn't it?" Brooke says before walking over to Kiara who was already trying not to laugh.

"Hey I don't know what you think is so funny but you aren't exactly being loyal either you know." Daniel says to Kiara. She looked to Brooke while they both stifled another laugh before she looked back to Daniel and said,

"I'm sorry I thought you we're Brookes boyfriend not mine." 

"I mean to me as a friend." He said annoyed with their jokes. "I was the one advocating for you to join the team and now your advocating for someone else!"

"Okay there are so many things wrong with that where to I start." Kiara said looking at Brooke. "One, these are two very different situations. Two, like Brooke said you aren't a candidate. Parker is. I'm for Sophie because I believe she is going to lead the house better. Now maybe you should not be so concerned with me and Brooke and focus more on 'your candidate'."
