3RD POV
THE NEXT DAY
"Alright, you ready for your first big competition Miya?" Joe smiled as he stretched his body. Joe noticed that Miya did not answer to his question. The man turned around and seen that Miya was still asleep in his bed.
"OI! MIYA!" Joe ripped the blankets off of the boy.
"GAH?! RUDE!" Miya jumped up while Reki fell off the bed.
"Sorry, but you better start getting ready for today! We can't be late!" Joe explained as he folded Miya's blanket.
"Right...today." Miya shook nervously.
"Hey cmon man, you'll do great!....ouch." Reki groaned as he slolwy got up from the floor. Miya slowly breathed in and out before getting out of bed.
TIME SKIP
"Woahhh! This is the stadium!? It's so big!" Reki smiled as their taxi parked on the side.
"Alright everyone make sure you guys act like loving brothers to Miya? Again, we are a disguised family. Cherry, oh! I mean...Honey, you got your makeup on?" Joe teased as he watched Cherry put on his wig. Cherry blushed as he looked at Joe in an angry way.
"Watch it Joe- I mean Hiroto dear." Cherry turned to the driver who was not paying attention.
"Right...we can't call you guys Joe and Cherry inside..." Reki looked at them as he got out of the vehicle.
"Alright Mom and Dad, let's go!" Langa smiled.
STADIUM
"Registration name?" A lady asked.
"Miya Chinen." Joe spoke.
"Alright! Are you his...Father?" The lady looked at Joe.
"Heh yes, sorry I work out a lot in the sun. That's why I'm so dark haha!" Joe tried to excused the differences.
"Oh! And the hair?" The lady questioned.
"He has my hair...He's Hiroto Chinen, I'm Kasumi Chinen." Cherry budged in.
"Apologies for my nosy questions!" The girl blushed as she typed in Miya's name. She then printed his competition number and a guide line with rules.
"Here you are Chinen! You're number 435 from now on in this competition!" The lady smiled. The "family" bowed as they grabbed their things.
"Alright let's see...so in this competition, there are two parts. The first part is a show off your style...do you have a style planned out?" Joe asked the nervous boy.
"Uhh...I guess I can do my usual warm up along with a 360 Tre flip. It's simple...but the Tre flip is a good one since it's difficult to execute...but after that I'll end it off with a mid air rotation." Miya explained while the group nodded.
"Okay, and the second part is the race...now Miya...there are over 50 contestants...only 35 are allowed into the second competition...which is in Spain. The third competition will be in South Korea...and then America. Then the last one...woah is Canada. Heh, I guess you get to go and visit your home." Joe smiled at Langa who flinched.
"Oh...nice." Langa blushed a bit.
"Alright, we better go and bring Miya's stuff in his block." Cherry said as he carried Miya's gear. Once they got into their block, Miya looked around to see many young skaters like him. He saw how professional their skate equipment were and how confident they looked. Miya then took a look at his own gear and sighed heavily.
"Whats wrong Miya?" Cherry asked.
"Is my gear too...childish?" Miya asked as he showed Cherry his board.
"I think it's perfectly fine. You're just expressing what you like, which is cats and video games. Don't pay attention to what everyone else is doing okay?" Cherry softly smiled. Miya blushed as he chuckled a bit at how motherly Cherry was being.
"Okay mom!" Miya laughed as he put on his stuff.
COMPETITION
"ALRIGHT EVERYONE! WELCOME TO OUR 3RD ANNUAL GLOBAL COMPETITION! WHERE WE GET TO SEE RISING STARS BECOME LEGENDARY! WINNER GETS A FREE ADMISSION SPOT ON THE 2023 OLYMPIC SKATEBOARDER COMPETITION! NOW GET READY TO PUT YOUR HOME TOWN ON THE MAP!" The announcer made the crowd go wild. All the skaters were on the sidelines, waiting for the announcer to tell them what was going to happen next.
"FIRST PART OF THE COMPETITION IS, SHOW YOUR STYLE! SHOW US YOUR UNIQUE WAY OF SKATEBOARDING! THE JUDGES WILL ANNOUNCE THE TOP THREE WINNERS WHO GET AN ADVANTAGE IN THE SECOND PART! ALRIGHT! FIRST COMPETATOR! 363, JOHN BURROW! 12 YEAR OLD AMERICAN SKATER!"
Miya watched as the boy skated to the arena and skated around, doing tricks and flips.
"JOHN ENDS IT WITH A PERFECT OLLIE, FOLLOWED BY A 720 HEELFLIP! LETS SEE WHAT THE JUDGES SAY TO THAT...8.5, 7, 7.5, AND A BEAUTIFUL 8.7! BURROW SETS A SCORE OF 31.7 POINTS! NEXT-"
Miya watched skater by skater take their turn in the spotlight. Every difficult trick or fancy flip one of the competitors performed, the more Miya felt sick to his stomach.
"Hey you good?" A girl next to Miya asked.
"Y-yeah!" Miya flinched as he skated back into the block. Once Miya was alone, he sat down and took a breather. Suddenly, Miya heard multiple wheels skate around him. He looked up to see some of the competitors circling him.
"Um...Can I help you?" Miya asked as the kids stopped in front of him.
"How old are you?" One of the kids asked.
"...why?" Miya asked.
"Hehe, because that gear makes you look like a little baby! Seriously games and cats? What a sap!" The kids all laughed.
"Hey! #434 kid! This kid is a number above you! Is he really older than you?" The kids laughed since they knew the higher the number, the older the child was in the competition. Miya looked at the boy who was #434. He had a red and white helmet on which did not show his entire face. The kid did not respond as he just stared at Miya.
"Whatever, hey kid! We are all had been in this competition before! And besides this quiet loser, you're the only newbie. Just give up already, you don't stand a chance." One of the kids stated. Miya looked at all of them and chuckled.
"Haha! You telling me you've been in this competition before, and still never won? Hah! I bet I can win this whole thing with my eyes shut!" Miya laughed as he started to get cocky.
The kids blushed from embarrassment, while competator #434 chuckled. The kids then got up in Miyas face and spat.
"We are going to eat you alive..."
Miya just stared at them as he got up. Suddenly, the intercom dinged.
"NEXT COMPETATOR! #435, MIYA CHINEN!"
All the kids looked back and Miya and smiled evilly.
"Good luck Meowyaaaa! Hahahaha!" The kids then skateboarded away, leaving Miya in panick.
MEANWHILE
"Why hasn't he come out yet?" Reki asked worried. Both Cherry and Joe looked at each other and nodded.
"Stay here, we'll go and look for him." Cherry explained as they both got up and ran into the block Miya was in.
They soon found Miya shaking in fear as he clenched onto his board.
"Hey hey! Are you okay?" Joe asked as he placed his hands on Miya's shoulders.
"...J-Joe?"
