Not Telling Blackjack Yet...

**Percy**

I paced outside the stables, wondering what reaction Blackjack would have to me.

Hopefully he wouldn't decide he wanted Percy for dinner and take a chunk out of my hand.

I mean, he wouldn't eat me, right?

I shielded my mind so no pegasi would be able to talk to me, also then I could surprise Blackjack.

Before I could change my mind and go back to the cabin, I walked in-bowing my head to avoid eye contact.

"Commander?" Silena nervous voice made me look up.

"Hey Beauty!" I smiled at her. "What are you doing here?'

"Hiding." She answered, resting her head against the head of a pegasus I didn't recognize.

"Why are you hiding?" I asked.

"It's hard  to be around the campers after what I did." She sighed.

"Nobody blames you." I told her. "You died a hero and that's all anyone cares about."

"But Drew-"

"Drew can go to Eternal Punishment." I cut her off. "She's mad that you fell in love and stayed in love."

"I feel like I betrayed my Cabin the most though, I left them with that witch." Silena looked at me with wide eyes.

"And Piper saved them from her and now nobody likes her." I added. "They look up to you. I remember on the Argo when Piper asked me what you were like and said that she wished she had gotten the chance to meet you."

"Why would Piper want to meet me?" She frowned.

"Because you're you." I smiled at her.

"I be-"

"No you didn't." I shook my head. "And if you didn't, someone else might have and they might have given away some actual useful information."

"I did though." Silena winced.

"But you stopped and that's the most important thing. You had the courage to stand up and say no." I told her "Go find Forge. He was looking for you earlier."

"He was?" She brightened up.

"Said he had a surprise for you." I nodded.

"Thank you Omega." She smiled before rushing out the stables.

"No problem." I echoed after her before walking slowly down each stall, looking at each pegasus, smiling when I recognized one.

But I'd been gone a long time so more often than not, I was walking past new and younger pegasi.

And eventually I reached Blackjack.

He was curled up on the floor of his stall, his wings fanned out around him.

I could tell he wasn't asleep, I saw his eyes flicker open before closing again, obviously seeing who had come to bother him.

"Hey boy." I said softly.

He opened his eyes and snorted before looking away.

"You're Blackjack then?" I stared at him as he tried to glare, his ears flattened back.

He go to his feet and slowly walked over at a leisurely pace.

"I know someone who misses you." I smiled.

His ears immediately perked up, he was curious.

"I see that got your attention." I grinned, reaching out and letting him smell my hand before he allowed me to lay it on his velvety nose.

He let out a small whine and stared at me expectantly.

"Want a sugar cube?" I asked, grabbing a few from the box by his stall.

He reached over the stall door and started smelling at my hand.

"Although I'm guessing you'd prefer a doughnut?" I asked as he crunched on the sugar cubes.

He looked at me with an expression that looked a bit ridiculous on a pegasus, a look of confusion.

'Yes, I know about your liking for doughnuts." I smiled at him. "I'll get you some if you do one thing for me."

He nodded, easily won over at the thought of doughnuts.

"Give me a ride to New York," I said, "And I'll throw in some information on Percy Jackson."
