Prologue

Several millennia ago, before the universe itself was nothing, void, shapeless nothing. In nature's strife for balance two planes were created, these planes will later come to be known as heaven and hell, the world of light, and the one of darkness. But truly they were called O'kami and the Nether.

These two planes were made to preserve balance in the infinite nothingness. They were equal, yet opposite, so of course they would battle. Several thousand years later, the outcome of these battles, the creation of beings that have been through countless wars and taken countless lives. History would later know them as, 'The Emperors of Light and Dark'. Endowed with divine powers from mother nature herself, these two transcended mortality, and became known as 'gods'.

Equal in power, these two gods kept the balance. Each one given characteristics by their people. Eventually, light became known as true and pure, and darkness evil and bad. These notions continued to shape history even till this day. But that was not the case, because even in the balance, the two gods still strive to wipe each other out. And of course, Light got the upper hand. For he devised a way to share his power to the mortals of O'kami. He created what he called 'Angels' and gave them gifts that would later be known as magic. With the opportunity he had, he managed to wipe out a majority of the Nether. The handful remaining will later be given 'curses' which preserved them long enough for nature to run its course.

The upset of balance caused nature to rewrite itself yet again. It created a middle ground, a distortion. Neither dark nor light. But beings capable of exhibiting both traits to an extent. But there was a catch, for these beings will hold darkness in their hearts in favour of the Nether. This was the curse placed on the people of O'kami. Should they attempt to distort the balance again, the people of this 'middle ground' shall hold power even greater than that of the both planes. This middle ground will later be known as 'Earth' and these people 'Humans'.
