From silence.
Regulus does not know if it's normal for one's mother to inflict injuries on their own child. Is it normal for a parent to throw their child off the stairs?
Perhaps not, but he supposes that maybe it's just how his own mother works. As a child, he would often wonder about it, why his parents wouldn't allow him to play outside with the other kids.
He learned to keep his mouth shut after asking his mother about it.
There may be some things he does not agree on when it comes to pureblood ideals, but he had learned to keep his mouth shut.
Nothing good comes out of it anyways.
In the pureblood society, there was two choices. Follow the ideals, be a good little pureblood, marry the person your parents would arranged for you, produce an heir, or get out of it, and accept the discrimination you will get from other purebloods for not wanting to follow their beliefs.
Over the years, he noticed it. The obvious similarities between his parents, him, and his brother.
Not that they'd ever admit it but, Sirius and Walburga were more similar than they'd like to be. It's quite ironic, he thinks. To have two people who hates each other so much to be rather similar to each other.
In a different way, Orion and Regulus are also similar. Both quiet, enggrosed in their respective study, and would rather not express what they are thinking about.
If there was one lesson that was ingrained into his mind ever since he was little, it would be that no matter what, family matters. Blacks always protect each other. Though, sometimes it feels rather ironic.
