Part 3

Y/N casually walks through the lunch hall. They don't recognize as many people from their middle school as they thought they were going to when they first began school. They walked up to the serving area and got some food.

They look around, trying to find some familiar face that they could talk to.

"OI Y/N! COME SIT WITH US!" They hear a familiar voice shouting.

It was Lili. She was sitting with her brother and his friends. Y/N didn't want to sit with Nick, but it looked like they didn't have any other option. They walked over to their table and sat next to Lili. 

"Hi, been a while there, Y/N. Is it just me or do you look worse this year?"

"Very funny Nick. I'm sorry about him, Y/N."

"It's okay, once an asshole always an asshole, y'know?"

"Oi, what did you just-"

"Chill out, dude. Don't go picking fights."

"Yeah, Nick, especially with my friends."

Nick grumbled, going back to poking at his food.

"Don't be stubborn or I'll shove it down your throat." Lili warned.

"Like hell you will." He still ate it though.

"So, what did you do over the summer, Y/N?"

"Oh, other than our volunteer work? Hmm, nothing much, really."

"Right! Volunteer work was fun. Especially at the animal shelter?"

"Dude, how can you work without getting paid? That's the whole point of the fucking job-"

"It's good for college applications, Nick."

"But if I'm putting my time and effort into something, I better be getting shit back. Otherwise, why the fuck would I waste my time?"

"Good point, but sometimes people don't want stuff back for the nice things they do."

"That's just stupid."

"You're stupid."

"Shut the fuck up, Lili."

The bell then rang, and Y/N got up. 

"Thanks for inviting me, guys. I appreciate it."

"Anytime, Y/N! Stop by our house sometime!"

"Absolutely fucking not." Nick retorted.

Y/N noticed Lili and Nick arguing as they walked away. That group was more chaotic than they remembered, but it was fun spending time with them. Maybe their opinion on that group would change.
