-2 Months Later-

!Some back story first!

Y/n: Diego and I haven't made anything official.  In fact we were more like,  friends with benefits at this point.

Diego: I was scared to ask for more with y/n.  All my teammates who knew said I should talk to her,  but the timing never felt right. I've made a plan, soon I'll tell her.

Anyways here we go 🫶🏻

Diego's pov

Since I had a whole free week ahead of me, I asked Y/n to the beach. I've planned to have dinner, and after a walk on the beach. That's where I'll ask her. As of now, I just have to pray everything goes according to plan.

Y/n

I put on a new white dress that stopped at my knees with puffy sleeves,  and some Mary Janes I could easily slide off if needed.

I was spraying some perfume when I heard a knock. Quickly fixing my dress, I made my way over and opened the door to see Diego holding a huge bouquet of flowers.

"This is for you. Hope you like them!" Diego said handing me the flowers, I took brought them closer to my face and I could smell they were freshly cut. "I wasn't sure what you liked so I got ros-" I cut Diego off with a kiss. "Sorry, I love them." I said before putting them on the table I have next to the door. The kiss left Diego smiling "No problem.." he said as we made out way out. 

The drive was nice,  Diego had my favorite artist playing and we sang along with the music.  Every now and then I'd catch Diego admiring me, lost in the lyrics and the moment. 

Singing along to a love song,  I could feel Diego's eyes on me.
(This feels cringy 😍)

Finally we made it to the restaurant.  Diego opened the car door for me and helped me out,  we held hands as we walked inside.

"Hi,  reservations under Lainez,  Diego."

"Yes,  I have you right here.  Please follow me this was."

The walk to our table seemed long,  the restaurant was big and almost every table was filled.

Finally reaching out seats,  I saw fresh looking flowers and champagne.  It was more secluded and away from everyone else.   The view was of the ocean,  and I could see almost the sun which was almost completely gone now.

"Order anything you want! Actually don't even look at the prices."  Diego said as I opened my menu.  "Diego please, I don't want to spend too much!"  That was when Diego snatched the menu.  "I'll just read you the menu!"  He said laughing.  Is he serious right now. "You know what,  fine."  I said rolling my eyes.

After ordering Diego looked nervous, so I reached over and held his hand. I asked about practice like I always go, and he explained the new drill they're trying to me. Somehow we did the same routine each date. Why me? Why does someone like Diego show so much interest in me? I was clearly deep in thought because Diego stopped and asked about my day.
"Not very eventful I must admit, but I did stop by my parents today."
"What did you guys end up doing?"
"Not much, my mom made breakfast and we ended up talking about my life and I asked about how they've been."
"Oh, well that sounds nice."
"Yeah it was. They'd love to officially meet you, if you'd want that."
"That would actually be really nice, soon hopefully."

Our conversation continued for a while up until the waiter brought our food. For being so expensive it wasn't very good, Diego and I could barely finish.

After leaving the restaurant Diego and I made our way down to the beach,  we had been laughing about how horrible the food was.  That's when I saw what was happening.  There was a path lit up by candles and rose petals leading us under the pier.  At the end there was a were a bunch of letters spelling something out, and even more flowers and balloons.   Diego took and hand and led me over. 

"I know this probably wasn't what you were expecting,  and I hope there's no pressure from me.  There aren't enough words to describe how you make me feel,  my mind is always on you.  I wish I had asked you sooner,  but now is better than never.   Will you be my girlfriend,  y/n?"
After Diego finished speaking my eyes had filled with tears,  and my heart fluttering.  Of course I was going to say yes, my emotions were just overwhelming me.
"Please,  say yes." Diego said nervously
"Yes.  Yes,  of course!  Diego, you don't know how long I've been wanting to hear those words." 
That's when a bunch of Diego teammates run out of nowhere towards us,  happy that I said yes. 
"Mira,  my two besties!  Finally..!"  Kevin said pretending to cry, before hugging us both.

After we celebrated with the team, Diego and I left to go get some dessert. We were so hungry due to the fact that dinner was absolutely disgusting. I was so happy, and my camera roll was now filled with photos of what Diego had set up.  Of course,  Diego and I decided on going to a cafe!
"I think a new cafe just opened up near my house,  should we go there?"  Diego asked as he drove out of the lot.  "That sounds good!  I can't wait." 
I said giggling from excitement.   As we were driving,  it started to raining,  I was very happy. 
"I hate driving in the rain.. hopefully it doesn't get too bad."
"Well,  it shouldn't be too long of a drive,  right?" I asked
"It's not, we should be there in 5."
He said while kissing my hand.

Diego's Pov

"I have no idea what to get, love." I said looked at the menu.
"What if I just order multiple pastries, and hot chocolate for both of us?" Y/n said next to me as she was looking at all the pastries displayed infront of us
"Sounds good!" I said as a worked approached the counter.
I admired how carefully y/n selected each pastry, and when everything was finished she payed and thanked the worker.
"I love the boxes they put them in! Sorry, I got carried away. Maybe you can just give some to Kevin, he'd enjoy some." I could hear the happiness in her voice, dinner might not have been great, but everything else was amazing.
After a few minutes our drinks were ready and we made our way back to the car.
What she didn't know was that I had decorated my house even more.

Okay cliff hanged but I'm almost done with the next chapter so it'll be out soon! Sorry for any spelling errors
