Chapter 5: Stories of Old

Dear Diary,

I wonder if he notices me. I stare at him constantly. He looks so mysterious. I can't help but wonder about him. He comes to the shop every day and orders the same exact thing. A Blueberry Muffin and a coffee with cream and sugar. He looks cute in his leather jacket. He always has that thing on. It always looks worn, yet neat. His hair was unkempt. Like he wakes up, gets dressed,and heads this way. He's never sick. It's almost unnatural. He always has the right amount of change. Never too much. never not enough. Even when we raise or lower our prices. He always knows how much to bring. He sits in the corner by the wall and eats his muffin, sipping his coffee. Then he leaves. Weird... /

When Daniel finally managed to pull the sword from it's prison, his time with Krissy began flashing before his eyes.

He used to eat at the diner where she worked every day. He didn't think the food was good. He came just to see Krissy. He had developed a liking for her a while ago when he had discovered the diner. He saw her inside, and wanted to know who she was. She was a gem to Daniel. He probably sounds like a stalker to you right now, so I assure you, he is. However, he saw something very special in Krystle. Something... that he could use. Someone... he could use. He wanted to have her on his side when the time came. And he knew it would. He had to befriend Krystle. For his and her own sake.

Daniel remembered the first time he spoke to Krystle. She was surprised that I spoke to her, instead of the other lady. Daniel had ordered a completely different group of things today. He also asked Krystle to join him while he ate. He still remembered what he had asked Krystle.

"Do you know what you are?"

"I don't know what you mean by that.."

She doesn't know, Daniel had thought. "I'd like to extend an invitation to you. you see, I'm an adventurer. I go on adventures. I'd like you to accompany me on one of them."

Without contemplation, Krystle had shouted "YES!"

"Great! Pack your bags, and meet me by the train station!"

Daniel didn't know that a few short years later, she would be taken from him. He had grown to love Krystle. On the first adventure they went on together, Krystle had held herself together spectacularly. They had to sneak their way up the Eiffel tower, and disrupt a meeting. The meeting was a drug deal. They were each the biggest drug gangs from where they were from. It was at about 1 o'clock In the morning. They had to stop the biggest drug transfer in history. It wasn't easy, but somehow, Krystle stayed extremely calm. Daniel then know that she was indeed the Windmere Descendant.

The Windmere Descendant was told to be the greatest adventurer ever. Daniel had searched the better half of 30 years for this person. That's when he found Krystle. He was lucky to be able to get her when he cold. Krystle told stories about when Daniel left the diner. Apparently, others came and had to be arrested for attempted assault on Krystle. But She held her composure well. That's what made her so special. She would never flinch. Until now, when she had gotten shot. Daniel vowed to protect her, and right now, that's what he intended to do.
