Chapter 13: Prayers of Demons

Dean walked around until he found a park bench and sat down. Dean started to laugh a bit. "Cas I don't know if you can hear this because I don't even know if demons can pray but I know you can sense when people wanna talk to you so I'm just gonna give this a shot and hope you can hear me." Said Dean as he took a breath putting his hand over his lower stomach. "Cas, I love you ok and I told you how long I waited to say that to you so I never wanna stop saying it! When you went the way you did I guess um... I guess I took a lotta thing things into perspective about life, death, and love. I realized that no matter how much I was convinced my life didn't mean a damn to anyone and the world woulda been fine if you left me in hell but you sacrificed everything down to your damn life just because you loved me. It ate me up inside that I had to wait so long to say it back to you, please come back to me. Please just come tell me what your doing! Just please come tell me anything!" Begged Dean as suddenly a drop of rain dropped onto his face but before he could wipe it away he felt a hand on the side of his face wiping it away from.
"Hi Dean." Said Castiel as Dean looked up and Castiel smiling down at him. Dean stood and hugged Castiel tightly. "I didn't mean to scare you Dean. I didn't realize that leaving like that would hurt you so much." Said Castiel as Dean let go and just held his hands.
"It's ok I may have overreacted... Cas where did you go?" Asked Dean as Castiel nodded.
"Let's get out of the rain then we'll talk." Said Castiel so then he and Dean walked into a coffee shop across from the park Dean was sitting at and they sat down.
"So why did you disappear like that?" Asked Dean as Castiel sighed.
"To be completely honest Dean I didn't think I would be missed so much." Stated Castiel as Dean put his hand over the angel's.
"What? Cas why would you think that?" Asked Dean as Castiel sighed.
"I don't know Dean I just feel like if the world isn't being threatened with extinction I'm kind of useless so I thought since you and Sam have more experience in helping ordinary people I'd just get out of the way." Said Castiel as Dean squeezed his hand.
"Cas that's not true. Sure Sam and I have a lot more experience and to be fair you kind of suck as a hunter but that's just because your people skills suck. It doesn't mean you can't get better, Cas. If any one of us deserves a somewhat normal life, it's you. Like I said a lot you gave up a lot for us and I feel I need to pay you back." Said Dean as Castiel shook his head.
"Dean you don't need to do that." Said Castiel as Dean sighed.
"Cas you do so me and Sam let me do something for you, please?" Asked Dean as he put his hand on the side of Castiel's face and pulled him close getting ready to kiss him but Cas pulled away.
"Dean, we're in public." Said Castiel as Dean smiled and held his hand.
"Cas, while we were saving the world it was changing a lot and now if two guys wanna be physically affectionate in public no one gives a damn." Said Dean as he smiled and Castiel smiled softly. Dean pulled him close and kissed him. Suddenly there was some muttering around them and Dean looked behind him and saw some teenage girls smiling. Dean rolled his eyes and glared at them. "What?!" Demanded Dean as the girls smiled.
"You guys are adorable!" Said the girl as Castiel got confused by the statement and so did Dean.
"What?" Asked Dean as the girls just looked at each other just as lost.
"Have you never been complimented before?" Asked one girl as Dean looked at them.
"No, not usually." Said Dean firmly as the girls stood.
"Well world's changing boys." Said one girl as she walked past them. "Get used to it." She said as her eyes flickered to pure black as she smiled at them walked away.
"Cas, did you?" Asked Dean as he was implying the sight of her eyes.
"Of course I did Dean." Said Castiel as they stood and followed the girls out the door. Dean pulled the demon blade from inside his jacket and Cas got out his angel blade. The girls turned down an alley and they followed them but when they went down the alley they weren't there. Suddenly Cas got kicked in the back of the leg causing him to drop to his knees. Dean felt a blade press against his throat.
"Gotta say a demon and angel hooking up is real cute like you actually have a chance at eternity together! Your delusions are adorable." Said the girl as she pressed the blade deeper into Dean's throat.
"So I take it you're the ones that are killing kids in this town?" Asked Dean as the demons laughed.
"Best way to attract a Winchester!" Said the demon that held Castiel but it smelled him. "Guess what Castiel, you got quite the price on your pretty little head! After all you're the last of your kind! What an honor it must be to be the only lemming that didn't jump from the cliff!" Laughed the demon as they grinned at each other.
"So that's what this was about getting Cas?!" Demanded Dean as the demon pressed the blade against Dean's throat once more.
"No it was about you both really see demon who put the prices on both your heads see she wants Castiel alive but she wants your head on a spike!" Said the demon as she prepared to cut off Dean's head but suddenly there was the sound of two gunshots and both demons dropped.
"Looks like you boys needed my help." Said Bonnie as she helped up Dean and Castiel. "I take it your Castiel, Bonnie Robinson I was helping out Sam and Dean with the case. I guess they pulled a fast on me too, huh?" Asked Bonnie as she looked over at Dean. "So I guess it wasn't a case it was a trap." Said Bonnie as she sounded so disappointed.
"Hey you saved our asses so thanks." Said Dean as he shook Bonnie's hand.
"Is it true, what they were saying?" Asked Bonnie as she stared at Dean. "Are you really a demon?" Asked Bonnie as she actually afraid of him.
"Yeah... And before you go jumping to any kind of conclusions, I chose this for myself." Stated Dean as Bonnie looked at him like he was nuts.
"Dean from what I've heard you're the best hunter out there, you know what kind of bad stuff follows these kinds of mistakes." Said Bonnie as Dean looked over at Castiel.
"It wasn't a mistake, it was the best damn choice I've ever made." Said Dean as he looked at Castiel with such love. "Wait if you're scared of me then why did you save us? You're a hunter you're supposed to kill stuff like me." Said Dean as Bonnie sighed and shook her head.
"Well I fear you cause you could probably kill me with just a thought but I respect you Dean, you're the best hunter out there and as long as that doesn't change I don't care if you're a demon I wanted to be sure you knew how stupid you were to become one." Said Bonnie as she sighed. "Well if you ever need me again I'm just a call and probably 12 states away." Said Bonnie with a smile as she walked off.

They went back to the motel and explained to Sam what happened then they got back on the road.
