Pebbled

"Here we go, Wash. Atta boy, one step in front of the other." York heard Florida encouraged as he entered the rec room, one of Wash's arms around his neck, supporting his weight while Wash himself was mumbling to himself.

"Do I even wanna know?" York asked, watching Florida guide Wash to the couch that York and Maine were occupying.

Florida chuckled, "Wash accidentally ate one of Wisconsin's pot brownies. Now shoo, he needs to lie down."

"Pot?" South interrupted, looking extremely interested from her perch on the kitchenette counter and North pinched the bridge of his nose.

"South." He sighed.

"Oh shut it, North."

"What gave him the bright idea to eat one of Wisconsin's pot brownies? That's literally what he's known for." Connie said, effectively putting an end to another infamous Dakota Civil War battle.

Florida carefully laid Wash down on the couch once York and Maine vacated the spot. "Well, Wisconsin hadn't been in the room at the time and our rookie ate one of them, thinking it was just a simple brownie."

Connie winced, knowing how much Wisconsin emphasized the pot in pot brownie. "You think he's going to be okay?"

"Why is it suicide and not murder in the first person?" Wash said suddenly and broke out into a fit of giggles.

"..."

Maine let out a very concerned rumble.

"Oh yeah, he's stoned," South said, peering at Wash with a highly amused smirk.

"'M not stoned!" Wash protested. "M'fine M'fine. Just a lil pebbled." Wash said and giggled harder at his joke.

Connie made a very undignified snort.

"All in favor of not telling Wyoming and Carolina, raise your hand," York said, not wanting to deal with the stupid knock-knock jokes he knows Wyoming is going to make or Carolina getting upset and yelling at them.

Everyone raised their hand.

"I don't really like lying to the rest of the team. No secrets and all that jazz." Florida started but South cut him off with a snap, "Just raise your damn hand, Florida."

Florida raised his hand.

Wash raised both his hands and went, "Weeeeee!"

"Please tell me somebody is recording this."

"On it."
