Chapter 4- Alliance

(January 11, 2020)

Pellaeon waits as Albaron speaks. After Albaron had consented to hear them out, he had guided Pellaeon and his entourage to his home in the town. Here, Pellaeon had tried to explain their situation.

As Albaron finishes speaking, TC-92 translates his words, "So, you come from another galaxy? And you were exploring these regions when you were attacked and your ship crippled?"

Pellaeon nods to confirm it. Albaron nods in return and begins speaking again. Once he's finished, TC-92 again translates his words, "I am willing to consider an alliance with you, on several conditions. First, you will deploy no more troops onto our world's surface unless we ask it of you. Second, you will leave us with even more of your weapons than you have already given us. Third, once your ship has been repaired, you will move on from this planet. Fourth, you will agree to defend us from any attack during the period of your stay here. Fifth, you will leave behind a means to contact you when you depart, so we may call on your aid should we need it. And lastly, your gathering of food to replenish your stocks will not interfere with our own agriculture." A brief pause, then, "Are these terms agreeable, Pellaeon?"

Pellaeon nods in response before saying, "These terms are agreeable, Lord Albaron. We will consent to all of these terms, on a condition of our own that, in the course of our future travels, should we encounter an emergency, we may be free to return here for a brief time."

TC-92 translates Pellaeon's words to Albaron. After a moment of consideration, Albaron responds in his tongue. After a few words, he looks at TC-92 to translate, and TC-92 translates, "This is agreeable, Pellaeon."

Pellaeon smiles. "Very well. Then, may we seal this budding alliance between our peoples?" he asks.

TC-92 translates to Albaron, who nods in return and responds with a few words. TC-92 translates, "Yes, we may."

Pellaeon smiles slightly and extends his hand to Albaron. Albaron looks at it for a moment before extending his own hand and grasping Pellaeon's, sealing the budding alliance between the Sith and the Hood.

(January 13, 2020)

It's been two days now since the 61st landed on the planet and discovered the Sith colony. Since then, the crew of the Hood have learned a lot about their new hosts and how they came to this planet.

The Sith call this planet Zallin. Apparently, their ancestors were part of an expedition of Sith purebloods launched shortly after the defeat of Naga Sadow. They crash landed on Zallin during their expedition, and their ship was completely destroyed in the process. Cut off from the rest of the Sith, they established settlements across the planet and just tried to survive. Eventually, most knowledge of the Sith Lords and the Jedi had passed from their memory, but not of the Force itself.

After Pellaeon had managed to seal an alliance with Albaron, Albaron had summoned the chiefs of other Sith settlements from across the planet. The chiefs had gathered in the town over a day and a half before they started a meeting a few hours ago with Pellaeon.

Needless to say, the other chiefs took some convincing to believe that Pellaeon and his ship came in peace and were worth talking to. Albaron argued on their behalf, and the other chiefs were at the least impressed by the politeness shown by Pellaeon and his entourage, and the fact that TC-92 knew their language. Eventually, the other Sith chiefs were convinced that it could be worthwhile to try and make friends with the Hood's crew and that such a friendship would be beneficial to them.

Once the chiefs were convinced to consider alliance with the Hood, discussions had begun on what Pellaeon and the crew wanted from the Sith. Pellaeon had had some engineers and repair crew come down from the Hood to explain better what they needed. They had brought samples of what kind of materials they required and repair manuals to make sure they didn't miss anything.

The meeting had moved from Albaron's home to a larger hall in town so the engineers and Pellaeon could better show the Sith chiefs what they needed.

At the moment, Pellaeon, Ronen, and most of their guards are hanging back while the engineers and repair crewmen are explaining their needs. They have a series of metals and other minerals spread out on tables in front of the chiefs, and are carefully explaining each one, along with its qualities and other characteristics while TC-92 translates. The Sith chiefs are all watching with interest at the advanced technology being displayed. They are also examining the materials being displayed, thinking about what they know of the planet's resources and if they have such materials or comparable ones available.

The engineers finish describing what they require to make repairs to the ship. They step back a bit, and Pellaeon steps forward to address the Sith chiefs. "I hope we have managed to explain what these materials are and why we require them. Do all of you understand what we have told you?"

TC-92 translates. After the droid finishes, the chiefs begin nodding in answer. One by one, the chiefs begin responding to Pellaeon, which TC-92 translates. As Pellaeon hoped, the chiefs are answering whether or not such materials are available. Thankfully, it seems that Zallin is rich in raw materials. Most of the materials that the crew need to repair the Hood are available on the planet, and the Sith already are mining these resources for themselves. For the few materials they don't have, there are comparable materials that can serve about as well as the original materials, and in some cases, even better.

Once the various chiefs have finished confirming that the materials are available for mining, Albaron speaks up for his fellow chiefs. Once he is done speaking, TC-92 translates, "We are willing to allow you to have these resources, as we have enough for our own needs, and we are willing to allow some of our people to assist in the repairs. However, we expect you to honor the agreements we made, or we will take action."

"I understand, Chief Albaron. Rest assured, we will be good guests of your people while we are here, and we promise not to take more than we need. Rest assured, we will follow every agreement we have made. I promise, you will not regret your choice in aiding us in getting our ship repaired," Pellaeon promises. He steps forward to once more shake hands with Albaron, feeling a great sense of relief. Despite the fears that the Sith would be overly territorial and aggressive and would not be willing to negotiate, they have cooperated. Now, soon enough, the repairs on the Hood can begin.
