I was always bitter, hating girls for what they had that I didn't, and for not having the flaws that I saw in myself. I had two best friends, one of whom was frequently absent due to illness.

I preferred having small groups of friends because it didn't overwhelm me. In middle school, I had a crush on someone because they were nice to me, but they had a crush on the cute blonde girl, so I never acted on it.

In high school, a girl caught me singing an anime show OST and we became close. I had braces and messy hair, and I wore size XL oversized shirts every day, feeling comfortable in my own style and personality.

That year, I stopped caring about what others thought of me. It made me incredibly happy to have people who accepted me as I am.
