You blinked against the light, still laying down on the mossy ground. You noticed that Camilo had scrambled off of you, and he was now desperately explaining what happened to Luisa, Isabela, and Dolores. Of course, Dolores already knew what happened, but she was enjoying hearing him scramble to come up with an answer.
You quickly sat up, blushing. Dolores was trying (and failing) to not laugh, Isabela was giggling, and Luisa looked kind of awkward. You heard Mirabel and Antonio run up. "We couldn't find them! Any i...deas...?" Mirabel trailed off as she saw the scene unfolding. "What the heck happened here?" Dolores smirked and went over to Mirabel, whispering the story in her ear.
Mirabel, of course, busted out laughing. Antonio had the bugs tell him what happened, and he, of course, was unfazed.
"Well, now that we're all found, should we set up the bed?" You asked, trying to change the subject. Mirabel recovered from her fit of laughter and nodded. "Yeah, I'll get the blankets." Antonio raised his hand enthusiastically. "I'll help!!" Everyone claimed a role, leaving you and Camilo with nothing to do.
So, you both sat in Antonio's tree house, saying nothing.
Until he did.
"Well, that was sure an experience." You nodded. It fell into silence once more. You couldn't help but notice his fluffy hair. You wanted to touch it so badly...
"Camilo, can I touch your hair?"
He stared at you for a moment. "Uh... sure." You scooted towards him and gently patted his head. His curls were so fluffy and soft, almost like touching a cloud. You never wanted to stop. He laughed a little, taking your hand and kissing it. "You're so cute, you know." Your eyes widened as you blushed. "U-uh-uh, tha-thanks," You stuttered, flustered. He laughed a bit, sliding his hand up your arm and onto your neck. He leaned forward, just inches away. Your breath hitched.
He stared into your eyes, and you could have sworn you saw a bit of red on his cheeks. He tilted your chin up to look at him. "You're so beautiful," He murmured. "I don't want to miss a second I can see you." Your face flushed red, and you leaned forward and buried your face in the crook of his neck.
"You're so mean," You said, leaning into him, "You make me want you, when I can't have you." "Why can't you?" He asked. "Because I'm leaving in three months!" You grabbed his ruana, and he hugged you, making you all fluttery inside. "But I can't help but want more of this feeling..." You let your eyes close, breathing deep. He smelled like warm honey and vanilla. It was comforting. You calmed, and maybe fell asleep a little. The last thing you heard was a single sweet, honey-dipped word; "Okay."
You woke to giggling and whispering. When your eyelids fluttered open, still tired, you remembered where you were. Cuddled up with a sleeping Camilo, in Antonio's tree house, while the rest of the kids were huddled around you. Mirabel had the camera again. You quickly sat up, feeling your face flush. He muttered a sleepy complaint, but he didn't stop you from pulling away. He soon fully woke as well, his eyes snapping open. His face flushed a bright red when he saw everyone crowding around the photo they'd taken of you two.
Dolores whispered something you couldn't hear, and it caused a wave of laughter in the group. Eventually, they calmed down, and Antonio wanted to sleep, so you set up the huge blanket bed, and you all decided to play truth or dare.
"Okay, I'll go first!" Mirabel said once you were all sitting in a circle. "Y/n. Truth or dare?" You shrugged. "Truth?" She smirked. "What are your feelings for Camilo, in their entirety?" Your eyes widened. "Uh-" the whole room was silent, besides Antonio's soft snores. Everyone stared at you, especially Camilo. "I-I.. uh..." You felt a hot blush creeping up your neck. "I-I mean... he's..." You glanced at him. He was looking at you expectantly. "He's..." You swallowed hard. "He's... very attractive..." You basically whispered. "And... he's flirty, and always makes me flustered... and..." You trailed off. Mirabel seemed satisfied. You cleared your throat.
"Isabela. Truth or dare?" You asked, changing the subject. Camilo was still staring at you, his cheeks red. Isabela grinned. "Dare." "I dare you to act out a dramatic death scene with the person on your left." Isabela and Dolores locked eyes, and they both stood up. Isabela dramatically fell to her knees. "Oh, no, Dolores- I-" She faked choking, her hands reaching up and grabbing her neck. She fell backwards, and Dolores caught her, fake crying. "No, my dear Isa! Nooooo!!" She gently set her down, falling to her knees. Isabela made flowers sprout around her.
Everyone clapped, laughing at the fake scene. They both sat back down. Isabela's eyes locked on Camilo. "Primo. Truth or dare?" He scratched the back of his neck. "Dare." She smirked. "I dare you... to either take off your shirt... or tell your crush you like her." His panicked eyes darted to you for a split-second, before he shrugged, faking a cool act. "Okay." He pulled off his ruana and shirt. You couldn't stop staring. He was slightly toned, and he looked so... hot.
You could feel a hot blush spread over your entire face. He grinned. "I know you're enjoying the show, Señorita, but you've got to focus on the game." He winked at you, causing an eruption of butterflies in your stomach. You begrudgingly tore your gaze away, staring at the ground instead. The game continued, and you weren't paying attention until Dolores said, "Y/n; truth or dare?" You looked up at the group. "Uh.. dare." She grinned. "I dare you to cuddle with Camilo for the rest of the game." You blushed. Silently, you walked over to him in the circle and sat next to him. Everyone looked at you expectantly. You leaned into him, laying your head on his shoulder. He smoothly snuck his hand onto your waist, causing you butterflies. You couldn't feel anything else.
At the end of the game, it was midnight, 3 more people had taken off various articles of clothing, everyone was exhausted, and Luisa had told the group about the boy in the village she had a major crush on. "Well, I think it's time for bed." Isabela said, yawning. Everyone nodded in agreement. You didn't want to be away from Camilo. He laid down, in a position so perfect to join for cuddling.
You looked around. Everyone but you had found their sleeping spot. You noticed a deliberately empty spot next to him. Mirabel noticed you still standing, and she sat you next to him. You weren't complaining. Mirabel walked over to her spot next to Antonio and went back to bed, giving you a thumbs-up. You laid down next to him. However, you were hyper-aware of the one thing you were missing: your special stuffed animal.
You tossed and turned for about 15 minutes, unable to get comfortable. Eventually, Camilo stopped you. "Señorita, what's up? You okay?" You paused. "Uh...y-yeah, everything's fine!" You smiled wide. "See?"
He shook his head. "Something's wrong, what is it?" You looked at your hands. "I, uh... I just... can't sleep." He tilted your chin up to look at him. "Why not? Are you uncomfortable?" You shook your head immediately at his worried expression. "No, I'm not uncomfortable! I just-" You cut yourself off. "It's... just embarrassing to say..." You mumbled. He half-smiled, booping your nose. "You can tell me, Señorita, I won't judge."
You looked away. "...I... need my stuffed animal..." You looked away, half-burying your face in the blanket. He chuckled quietly. "You could've just said that, cutie. I don't have your special stuffed animal, but I do have something." You looked up at him as he got up and went out of the room. Mirabel looked at you quizzically, and you shrugged in response.
He came back after about 5 minutes, and in his hands, he held a yellow chameleon stuffed animal. He sat back down next to you and handed you the chameleon. "You can snuggle with this lil' guy for tonight, Señorita," He said, and laid back down. You hugged the chameleon tight and scootched closer to Camilo. He watched you, smiling. "What, do you want to cuddle or something?" He asked, flipping onto his side to better watch your face. You blushed a little but nodded. He grinned. "Okay."
He put his arm around your shoulder and pulled you closer to him. Your face flushed. He smirked. "Cute," He whispered in your ear. You hugged the chameleon tighter, covering your face with it. He laughed quietly.
And then you both dozed off, warm and cozy in each other's company.
