LUKAS

I had been nervous to meet my mate for as long as I could remember. I had always been so worried about what others would think about it, what my parents would think about it.

Whenever Roen would talk about our mate, he would always use he/him pronouns, it never bothered me but I always worried about if someone else could somehow hear him.

It'd been almost two weeks since the art show, but I still couldn't get that scent out of my mind. Honey and spice, it was like the scent burned my nose but soothed it at the same time, I was addicted and I hadn't even had it from the source.

I was lying in bed, staring at the ceiling; I was too nervous to sleep. All I could think about was the art show being my one and only chance to meet my mate.

I jumped as my bedroom door was kicked open but no one entered. I sat up in bed and looked to see Duncan standing in the doorway. "Alright, I can hear your depressed vibes from my room. Get up, get dressed, get out, we are going somewhere." He said as he turned and walked away.

I rolled my eyes and laid back down.

"Do not make me drag your ass out of that bed mister." He yelled.

He's gonna make a great dad. Roen said sarcastically causing me to snicker and nod in agreement.

"Where are you taking me at eight in the morning?" I asked as Duncan started to drive the car away from the pack house.

"We are getting some coffee in you and then we are going on a run to cool your nerves. I know that you're nervous about meeting your mate but you can't let it take control of you. Roen will tell you when you meet him, and the moon goddess will guide you to him. Just be patient."

"Says you, you're already happy with your mate. He may not know that you're a werewolf but at least you know him and he knows you."

"Luke, you had our link open when you were worrying this morning. I sympathize with what you're going through. But you need to have more faith in the moon goddess that she wouldn't be as cruel to daggle your mate in front of you just to never show him to you again. She wouldn't do that. She made mates for us so that we can know the true happiness of being whole again. She wouldn't take that away from someone as good as you. Now come on, we're here."

I looked out the window to see a coffee shop, I'd never been to before. "Where'd you find this place?" I asked as I got out of the car and we began walking to the shop.

"Oscar. We went here for our first date." He said as he opened the door for me.

We stood in line and stayed silent, I knew it was because he felt guilty about bringing up Oscar. I didn't want to do that to him. Oscar was his mate, he shouldn't have to feel bad about talking about him. He should be screaming about him from the rooftops.

Once we were at the front of the line, Duncan ordered both our coffees, causing me to give him a strange look. "Could I not order for myself?"

"Oscar got a drink when we were here that I thought you would like. You know, since you don't like sweets like a weirdo." I laughed as he stepped aside to where they gave the drinks.

When the drinks were done I quickly picked mine up and took a drink. "Damn that is good! How did-" I stopped talking as the bell rang above the entrance and that smell drifted its way into my nose. Honey and spice.

My head snapped up to look, only to see someone who looked exactly like Oscar. If I wasn't a werewolf and couldn't smell, I would've thought that it was Oscar.

Mate! Mate!! Roen screamed, causing me to take a step back.

"D-Duncan, who is that?" I asked as I nodded toward my mate. His face was just like Oscar's but his hair was longer, it came down to his jaw.

"Oscar said something about having a twin. I guess that's him. He never said a name though." He looked at the angel that is my mate and then he looked at me. I watched as his eyes began to grow in realization. "Is he your mate?!" He yelled causing others to turn to us. I slapped the back of his head

"Would you shut up? Okay, I got this, I just need to walk over there and introduce myself. Saying hello is the easy part."

As I was hyping myself up, I didn't notice my mate as he walked up to me. "Excuse me, But I need to get my drink," He said as he gestured toward the counter behind me.

"R-right, sorry," I said as I stepped out of the way. I took a deep breath. "I can't help but notice that you're here alone."

He turned to me with a small chuckle. "Yes, as I am most mornings when getting my coffee. Were you wanting to do something about that, or were you just pointing it out since you're here with someone?" He asked as he gestured to Duncan causing me to cringe.

"Oh, him? He's no one. I'd much rather be having coffee with you than him. Why don't we sit down and talk some?"

"You are forward," He said causing me to shrink into myself slightly. "But I like that. Come on." He turned away from me and began to walk toward one of the taller tables.

I turned to Ducan who gave me a grin and a thumbs-up. I all but danced my way over to my mate. "So, tell me your name?" I asked smoothly as I sat in the tall chair.
