Opal
Woods surrounded me. Just rows and rows of trees in front of me. All of it looked familiar but I just couldn't think of why.
Whispers filled the air. A few stood out to me. "Look" "You know". Confusion filled me more as I began to walk trying to figure out where they are coming from. As I pressed on walking, I found myself stumbling over something. I looked down and saw a piece of clothing. I stepped back loosing my footing and landing on the ground. The sickening feeling of being next to something that is stomach curdling. I slowly looked over and gasped out in horror as facing me was the half eaten face from the girl that was found. I froze in my spot. Then without warning her eye snapped open and her voice filled my head. "You know"
I sat up and screamed in horror. I looked around my room shaking in horror. I sat there looking down at my hands watching them shake. I tried to rack my brain on what I just saw. Why couldn't I remember? I ran my fingers through my hair. This was the second time that I had a nightmare and couldn't remember.
I climbed out of bed, I chose to go for a run. I needed to clear my mind.
Locking my front door I started out under the blanket of stars. Jogging was how I cleared my mind, I jogged along the side walk. I saw a figure up ahead, but I kept going. He was a tall man. I could see his dark hair that was in a bun at the back of his head. He looked to be in his mid-thirties. I kept going as I jogged past him. His interest seemed to be peeked about something as he called out. "Hey miss?" A voice softly whispered "you know, now run." I acted as if I didn't hear him as I started to pick up pace.
I figured if he thought I didn't hear him he'd leave me alone, but I was far from wrong. I kept going, but that didn't seem to stop him. I could hear his foot steps pick up pace in my direction. I was now in a full on run, I had to escape. I had to find a place to hide. I couldn't turn around and head home that would be bad.
Before I could get to a safe place to hide I was grabbed from behind. He growled and his mouth was right next to my ear. "I wonder if he would mind if I had a little taste of what's his?" I felt something sharp against my skin. Who is he talking about? My mind started racing, does he have a knife? In the next second I screamed out the one name I never thought I would scream out for. Out of everyone it was him, before everything went black.Magnus
Something seemed off today, but I couldn't put my finger on it. I kept walking and heading for the little spiritual ship. I wasn't heading there to see Daisy for herbal assistance, but to see Opal. There was something about her that made me just want to see her more. I wanted to make sure she was okay as well, I know see what she saw was horrible, but I just had to see her.
I walked into the shop and saw Daisy pacing back and forth clutching the shop phone. She seemed far away as if in a daze. I saw Emerald trying desperately to get her mother's attention, trying to calm her down. I walked over to her "Daisy?" This seemed to bring her back out of the daze. She looked at me with wide eyes. "Magnus!" She ran over to me. "It's Opal, she hasn't shown up for work and I can't get ahold of her." Fear filled my body mixed with anger. Daisy quickly grabbed a piece of paper and wrote down an address handing it to me. "Please, this is her address. See what you can find out." I looked down at the paper. "Please Magnus." I just nodded and headed out the door.
I went to the address on the paper and took a moment to look around. I could faintly smell her sweet scent. I knew it anywhere. I started walking following the way it took as I smelt something, or someone, that was familiar. This scent was something I haven't smelt in a long time. I immediately called Jackson.
After a few rings he answered, "what's wrong Mag?" He knew and I knew my next words would be a smack to his face. "Atlas has Opal." The quietness that sat on the other end of the phone was proof enough that the memory was running through his head. "Where are you?" I told him where I was and he hung up in seconds.Opal
Voices. I could hear voice talking. About who? Me? What did I do? Why am I hear? I stayed quiet with my eyes shut as I listened. "Are you sure Magnus will come for her?" A female voice spoke up, then the male's voice, that I knew was the one who grabbed me earlier. "Yes, she screamed out his name right as I grabbed her." The female seemed satisfied with his answer, but I was confused on why I screamed his name.
I heard heels clacking over to me "Atlas, I think our friend is awake." She grabbed my face as I opened my eyes and stared at her. "Oh, you brought me a rainbow." She said smiling. A rainbow? I glared at her, but it was very difficult as she was absolutely beautiful. Her long blonde hair hung softly down her back. She was tall and her body was in perfect proportions. It was as if I was staring at an Angel. I had to stop thinking of her beauty. "What do you want from me?" She smiled more "well, you're going to be my bait to get Magnus here. If he really wants you back he'll come." She paused for a moment then flashed two sets of sharp canines. My heart stopped, it was like something straight from a Hollywood movie. "Or I'll just have to drain you myself, then send your body to him."
Fear filled my body, along with disbelief. Vampires aren't real, they can't be. I stared at her and this seemed to please her. "It seems Magnus hasn't told you what he is." What did she say? Magnus is a vampire. He's like her? That word, vampire, kept repeating in my head over and over again. Then the whispers came back. This time it was firm. "You knew, now remember." It was like being punched then slammed into the ground. Rainbows flashed into my vision as I began to remember those nightmares that seemed so far from my reach but could wake me from the dead of sleep. I remembered seeing Magnus as a vampire in my dreams, I remembered the dead body that told me that I knew what did that to her. When the vision finally cut out I could hear my screaming, I could see the shocked face of the female vampire. The screaming came to an end as darkness slowly started taking over my vision. I softly called out "Magnus.." as I blacked out.Magnus
I could hear the scream from deep within the building. Jackson and I looked at each other before busting through the door. I watched as Opal fell to the ground blacking out. Morgan looked shock as if she saw something that wasn't normal.
I paid no mind to her as I ran over and scooped Opal into my arms. Jackson went for Atlas as I took the moment that I was given to save her. As I was heading out the door, Morgan spoke up "She knows now Magnus." I froze for a second and looked down at Opal. She knows. She knows what I am. I'm not to sure how this will go or what will happen. This will be an interesting time. I just hope I haven't lost her.
