Dark vs Light

It was in the darkness,
That I felt so calm....
Yet it was during the night,
That I had the common fight.
Tossing and turning,
Thoughts oddly burning.
It doesn't happen every night,
The need to feel the light.
But tonight is the day,
That I am brave to say;
I will overcome these dark thoughts and meet
With my calm serenity.
How warm it glows,
Oh, the many smiles it shows.
I finally felt free.
I finally see.....
That I can be calm, all alone
With no palm to hold.
As these weights of sorrow
It makes me feel so hollow.
Yet the feeling of being smothered
Just by the false warmth of others.
It touched my heart enough for me to weep
And finally, find peace in my deep sleep.
