DI4RI The Extra Notes

Chapter 1 [BOY]

Your name is Oscar Lombardi. You're a student in 2D. This chapter starts on Episode 3. They've done the first basketball match and 2D's Basketball Team are now practicing for the rematch.

You're sitting down, twiddling the pencil between your fingers. You're stuck on the homework from yesterday. How you wish you could be as smart as Daniele or how you wish you could copy his homework just like Mirko does - he has it easy. You've already done a few questions, it's just the last two that's giving you trouble.

"Psst. Monica, can I copy your homework for the last two questions?" you said from your seat.

"Sure. Hey Mirko. Pass my workbook to Oscar once you're done yeah?" Monica says to Dani after acknowledging you.

You gaze at Mirko as he turns from Monica to you. He lets out a weak smile. You smile back at him too. After a few minutes Mirko walks over.

"I'm done." says Mirko. But it almost sounded like a whisper.

"Thanks. I'm really stuck on the last two." you said while holding out your book and pencil.

"That's what Monica's homework is for." he chuckled.

He must be shy you thought to yourself.

You didn't really think too much of it and you copied the answers for the questions. Mirko walked back to his seat. Just as you were finishing the last sentence...

"Hi class!" shouted the teacher

You quickly wrapped up and passed Monica her workbook back. Everyone bounced up to greet the teacher and class started.

Not too long after the teacher started. You hear someone...

"Sorry miss, I'm late" said Daniele solemnly.

He came in wearing a burnt mustard sweater and a maroon collared t-shirt. You could see Mirko lighting up as Daniele put his bag on his seat. Despite you sitting way in the back, you could see Mirko passing something to Daniele. Daniele proceeds to put that something into his ear - it was an AirPod. They were going to listen to Tancredi.

You're dying to be Daniele's friend. How couldn't you? He's smart, sits in front of the class and is fighting for your class on the basketball court against 3D. So cool. Pietro's cool too but he's way too obsessed with Giulio. Your mom would not like it too if you're friends with a troublemaker. So you decided Daniele was your best option. Come recess you will try to be friends with Daniele.

"Ciao Daniele" you said to him in front of the class door.

"Ciao. I'm sorry I never got your name." he replied.

"Ah, no worries. It's Oscar. Oscar Lombardi"

"Okay. Hi Oscar. Nice to meet you."

"I just wanna say that you kicked butt on the court the other day. It doesn't matter if you lost."

"Yeah it sucks."

You see his mood turned sour. Daniele stole a glance at Mirko at the end of the hallway. Seemingly celebrating with 3D over their victory in the basketball game.

"Hey what did Isabel give you?" you try to change the subject.

"Oh just a basketball keychain" he hands it out showing it to you.

"Cool! If you need anyone to cheer you on at practice. I can swing by. It can be good luck haha"

"Yeah sure hahah come by"

That was good. You did good Oscar. you thought to yourself

Everyone was headed back to class as recess was almost ending. You sketched a bit on your sketchbook. Suddenly you hear Daniele making an announcement.

"Excuse me guys I left my phone charging and now it's gone. Has anyone seen it?"

Everyone just shook their head and looked at each other. You see Daniele's face turn more anxious. You scanned everyone's faces for a while in an attempt to see who had the most guilty face. Everyone was pretty normal except Silverio. But he's always weird.

School ends and you walk back home alone. It does not sound as bad as it does as you're pretty used to it but it's better to walk back with a friend no? You made your progress with Daniele and hopefully, get into his circle with Monica and Isabel. Daniele losing his phone sucks but it can be a conversation starter for your school day tomorrow.
