adri was wandering through the hallways, checking her phone every few minutes as she walked to the library. curse half of her courses for giving out homework and not much time. going home would mean dealing with younger siblings so she often stayed in the school library until around five thirty.
her bag was filled with textbooks and notebooks, making it heavier than necessary.
once she arrived at the library, she pushed the large doors of the library open, the hushed tones of a few students were heard as adri walked briskly through the library to find her favourite spot.
she dropped her bag on the chair, taking a seat in the other one while she opened her bag to dig out a piece of homework she could busy herself with. while adri worked on her worksheet, her phone started buzzing on the table, the caller id appearing once she picked the phone up off the table.
'bambi !!' the contact name read, adri immediately picking up and putting her phone up to her ear. "what's up bambi?" "hi drip drop! nothing much, i just wanted to see if you're up to having dinner with me and my dad?" bambi said, adri can literally hear the other smiling on the opposite end of the phone call. "oh- hold on lemme message home first." adri said, pulling her phone away and shooting a quick message to her dad asking for permission about going with bambi out for dinner.
"i'll probably end up going." adri said as she put the phone back up to her ear. bambi hummed in reply. "you know how much my dad trusts you and your dad." adri commented, almost knowing that bambi was nodding along to what she was saying.
"where in the school are you? i know you aren't home at this time usually." bambi asked, music being heard muffled on the other end. "take a guess bambi." adri prompted, waiting for the other's response. "probably the library then. i'll go to you." bambi said, rustling being heard from the other side, presumably bambi packing her things up.
"alright then, i'll see you." adri said, both of them bidding their farewells before bambi hung up. adri set her phone down, beginning to pack her own work up so she could be ready to go before bambi got here. adri picked up her now packed bag, slinging it over her shoulders as she got up from the seat and walked out of the library. as soon as she stepped out of the room of books, bambi was coming down the hallway and started running to make it to adri.
"let's go?" bambi immediately asked when she reached adri. adri nodded, the two of them making their way through the school to where the principal's office was located. on their way, they bumped into a face the whole school knew.
"hello ming." bambi greeted for the two of them, the student council head making a short bow and continuing on his path opposite from the direction bambi and adri were headed in. adri cast a questioning glance at bambi, the latter shrugging slightly as they continued their own walk.
adri stood back as bambi knocked on the door to the principal's office, pushing the door open and announcing her presence to the seemingly dead room. "hi d- dad?!" bambi shouted out in shock, running into the room and leaving adri behind in the hallway.
adri was concerned, to say, pushing the door open and seeing what bambi had seen initially. mr.kim, the principal of mansae high, was on the floor, clothes drenched in his own blood. bambi was on her knees next to the body, afraid to touch it.
"d-dad.." her voice quivered, adri dropping down next to bambi and pulled the younger into a hug.
"will all students in the school building report to the front lobby." the pa system was never any more scary.
