A Whole New World: Shane Davis x reader

for better or for worse

we left the room and went to the car. 

"the boys already went" my mom said. when we arrived at the hospital we saw the boys waiting.

"anything?" i asked

"no they haven't" jagger said. everyone sat in chairs but me. i paced in a small line walking back and forth. 

"shane your gonna worry yourself to death sit down" stacey said i sat in a chair as me knee bounced very aggressively. 

"y/n" a doctor called. i ran to him and awaited the news everyone following close behind. 

"she has one broken rib, lots of bruises, and a pretty banged up nose but its not broken." he said 

"can we see her?" i asked 

"yes room 192"he said walking away 

"thank you" i said walking down the hallway. when i reached room 192 i saw her hooked up to multiple different machines. i felt tears for in my eyes as i walked over to her bedside. she looked so fragile. i picked up her hand and held it. 

"shane" she said softly almost a whisper.

"hey i'm here. its okay." i said moving closer 

"thank you" she said giving me her best smile. 

"always. you know i'm always gonna save you because i love you." i said placing a kiss to her forehead. 

"i love you too" she said.

"y/n i know we haven't been on any dates or anything but i think the past few hours and years have made up for it. will you be mine? like be my girlfriend?" i asked

"yeah shane i will" she said 

y/n pov

"yeah shane i will" i said. he got up and did a little victory dance and then sat back down. 

"every time you accomplish something you do a little victory dance." i said laughing slightly but it did hurt. 

"this has been my mission since like fifth grade but probably like kindergarten." he smiled.

"so since we met?" 

"probably i don't remember when developed feelings for you, i just remember realizing i did in fifth grade" 

"oh my gosh" i said and in walked shane's mom.

"y/n oh my goodness. we were so worried for you." she said coming to hug me.

"well i'm okay thank you" i said 

"so my boy finally get his girl?" she asked

"yeah i did momma" he said smiling taking hold of my hand again.

3 weeks later 

i was discharged from the hospital about a week and half ago. today was court day for my mom and where i was gonna go. i sat towards the front with shane and his mom. 

"mrs y/l/n you have been charged with child abuse. is there anything else you would like to commit to?" the judge asked.

"no sir." my mom said 

"alright then. that will be 3 years in prison and a fine of 1,000 dollars. because miss y/l/n has only one other legal guardian, her father, he will now be her only adult until her 18th birthday." he said and dismissed everyone. my mom was taken to the back and off to prison. my dad was thanking the judge and talking to some other people. shane was talking to his mom about when they would leave to go home. i needed to clear my head so i stepped outside and sat on a bench. i felt someone sit next to me and i looked up. it was percy.

"i'm sorry" he said 

"for what, i'm fine everything is going to be okay." i said 

"my mom isn't my mom. she's my step-mom. i went through the same thing you are right now and i know what you're feeling. you are thankful that she won't be there to control you but sad because she was nice sometimes and you do have good memories with her, that you want back." he said

"wow, yeah you really do know" i said laughing a little. "i'm not gonna lie a part of me will always miss her even if she wasn't the best mom." 

"its natural" he said standing up.

"thank you for everything" i said giving him a quick hug.

"of course" he said returning the hug. we walked back in and he went to find his parent while i found my family. 

"we thought you ran away again" shane said jogging over to me. 

"no, not this time i have what i need." we said walking over to my family and the boys.

"oh yeah what's that?" brady, shane's brother, asked.

" i have the best big brother" i said giving brady a side hug.

"four new besties" i said hugging the boys. 

"the best mother-figure i will ever have" i said hugging shane's mom

"oh baby" she whispered

"the best dad in the world." i said hugging my dad. 

"don't forget me." someone said. i turned to see savannah who was already running at me. i ran to her and we hugged. 

"how did you get here?" i asked in her ear still hugging her.

"i flew out with your dad but wanted to surprise you." she said as we walked back over. 

"the best sister" i said giving her another hug. 

"and the best boyfriend ever." i said hugging shane. he hugged back and then kissed me. everyone cheered as we pulled apart. 

"well how about we all go out to eat in celebration?" my dad suggested. everyone agreed and left as i still stood in the court room. shane walked towards me and hugged me. 

"shane if it wasn't for you i could have still been with her and for that i thank you. i thank you for never giving up on me and i promise to do the same for you." i said 

"hey thats what i'm supposed to do right? when you are truly in love with someone you'll fight for them no matter the cost or how much it will hurt me." he said

"you have opened my eyes to a whole new world of love shane cameron davis." i said giving him  a kiss. he picked me up while we were still kissing and twirled me around. we both smiled into the kiss as i laughed. 

"hey lovers lets go eat i'm hungry." brady said again. we intertwined my hand with his as we left the building. life was so much better now and i have a feeling its going to just get even better, but remember what they say for better or for worse and that is what me and shane will do. be there for each other for better or for worse.
