Edward sadly had to push back his anniversary with his husband. (ANOTHER TIMESKIP BECAUSE THE DESCRIPTION WAS TOO CRINGE FOR ME TO PUT DOWN..) Edward drove the two to an abandoned office building, where he was supposed to be opening the black hole with the orb. The two walked in carefully, Adeleine spotted him, holding the orb. Suddenly, the building shook, and a black hole opened on the floor of the building. "Woah-- Stop right there!" Edward yelled at Kenzo, but it was too late. The hole was already sucking stuff into it, making it bigger by the second. Edward ran over to him, throwing a punch at him and punching him in the nose.

Kenzo yelped, holding his nose in pain. Out of reflex, he dropped the orb. Adeleine ran to pick it up, running towards the door. But rubble was blocking it. By this time, multiple floors of the office building had been destroyed. Addie flew up, in hopes to escape, onto the sixth floor.

She watched Edward and Kenzo fight but also watched the floors above her slowly start to perish. Suddenly Edward flew up to the same floor, panting with a bloody nose. "Let's put an end to this once and for all!" Adeleine raised the orb, preparing herself to throw it into the hole. Right before she throws it, Edward stops her. "No, if you do that it'll only make matters worse. It will kill anything within a 5-mile radius if you throw the orb in alone."
"Well, how do we close it then?" She lowered her hands, staring at Edward with tears in her eyes. "One of us... One of us needs to jump in with it. That cancels out the impact, and lowers it to a 10-feet radius." Edward sighed, looking back down at the hole. It was getting bigger.

"But-- I can't leave my daughters--! They won't have anyone to care for them-- a-and--"

"No, Addie, I'm jumping in. You aren't." "Wha-- But your husband? Your kids? You could die--"
"That's why I'm not dying. Here, I'll make a promise." Edward held his hand in a peace sign, holding it out to Adeleine. She did the same, and the two twirled and twisted their fingers together. This is how they made promises as kids, and how they do now.

"I, Edward Maro Collins, promise you, Adeleine Kokoyami Yinma, that I will return safely from the portal. No injuries whatsoever." Edward slightly pulled his pointer finger back, waiting for Addie's side of the promise.
"An I, Adeleine Kokoyami Yinma, approve your promise. But if you break it! There will be a consequence. Got it?"
"Got it." Edward and Adeleine pulled their fingers back, laughing. Addie gave him the orb.

"Please be careful. For me, for your family." Edward nodded, bowing to Adeleine. He backed up, his back facing the portal. It seemed like he was about to backflip.
"Hey, it was nice being your friend." "Wait, what do you mea-" Edward freefell backward, wrapping his wings around himself and the orb as he fell.

"Edward! YOU PROMISED!" Edward revealed that he had his fingers crossed. The other saw what was happening, and attempted to grab onto Edward to keep him from closing the black hole. However, he wasn't fast enough because he fell in too. As soon as both parties entered the portal, the black hole closed. A few seconds of silence, before... BOOM! The portal exploded! It only absorbed the building, everything else around it was fine. Adeleine was knocked back pretty hard, and when she woke up, all she could hear was ringing in her ears. "What the... Did we do it?" She looked around, there was no portal, no Kenzo.
