"Hurry up," Jinki said.

Taemin nodded. "I'm trying so hard to do exactly that. You know."

"Of course I do."

They rushed into the parking lot. They were running late to this radio show. They had to be there by nine and it was already 8:35. Kibum was standing by the car, already complaining.

Minho had to bite his lip to prevent himself from lashing out. He had to be calm. If they fought now, it would be difficult to act normally at the radio show.

It took another five minutes to get into the car. Jonghyun settled next to the window, resting his head against the window frame. Kibum settled into the driver's seat. They were usually driven by their manager, by a bunch of them had been late coming home from the studio last night and hadn't been able to wake up in the morning. It was a huge mess. It was part of the reason why they were running so late. Jinki and Taemin piled into the back. Minho took up the other front seat.

"Should I drive quickly?"

Jonghyun shrugged. He kept his eyes closed. He was still in his sleep-world. Taemin tried to shove him awake, but it only resulted in Jonghyun telling him to be quiet.

"Yeah," Taemin said. "Step on it, hyung. Drive as quickly as you can."

"Um... well, just be safe," Jinki said.

"Don't worry," Kibum said. He smiled into the rearview mirror. "I didn't make a single mistake on my driving test."

"Sure."

"Have some respect."

Minho huffed.

"Go already," Jonghyun said.

"Yes." Kibum turned the ignition on. "Let's go."

-------

Minho usually always sat in the front seat. The big windows helped him to know exactly where they were and it also helped him deal with his carsickness. It also helped that the seat was a lot more comfortable than the backseat where they were all smushed into each other.

Kibum was doing ten over the speed limit. Minho held his breath every time he pressed on the accelerator. It wasn't like he didn't trust Kibum specifically - he had a pang of anxiety go through him whenever someone else did this. Anything could go wrong at any time.

He tried to calm his racing heart. He knew Kibum knew how to drive.

-------

A flash of silver flashed across the windscreen. It grew bigger and bigger until he heard Kibum swear and try to slam on the brakes. The car tires screeched. It blended in with the rest of the chaos in Minho's head. Kibum's swearing, the tire screech... it circled around and around in his mind, until the resulting crash drowned everything else out. It echoed in his head. Louder and louder until he couldn't breathe anymore and a sharp pain pressed against his chest.

He remembered gasping. Kibum was yelling his name. It was so weird. He didn't remember much after that.

------

Jinki's mouth was set in a hard line. Taemin had never seen him look that pissed off. But he also looked worried. The three of them had only gotten minor injuries. Taemin had broken his finger when he'd been thrown forward. Luckily, all of them had been wearing his seatbelts so more major issues had been avoided. Jinki and Jonghyun were both uninjured.
