House Reyne of Castamere is an extinct vassal house of the Westerlands, formerly sworn to House Lannister of Casterly Rock. Their seat was the castle of Castamere until it was torched during the Reyne Rebellion, along with all members of the family. (Wikipedia)

Or so they thought...

As history says during the Reyne Rebellion, Tywin killed Lord Walderan in the field and destroyed Tarbeck Hall. House Reyne's army attacked Tywin's but were overpowered by their greater numbers. Reynard took charge of the army once Roger had become feverish after a crossbow wound and was incapable of leading. Reynard led the Reyne force back to Castamere and had them retreat into the underground mines. It has been said that he offered peace terms to Tywin if Tywin's brothers were sent into Castamere as hostages. Tywin refused the offer and ordered his men to barricade Castamere's entrances with stone. He then had them redirect a nearby stream into the castle, flooding it and drowning the remaining members of House Reyne.(Wikipedia)

But one escaped Reynard Reyne, the younger brother of the deceased Lord Roger Reyne. He stole a boat and travelled until finding an island which was in the region of the Waterlands, a hidden kingdom hidden from the Westerlands, The Riverlands, The Stormlands, The Vale, The Iron Islands, The Crownlands, Beyond the Wall, The Free Cities and the other regions as well. As he lived on the island, he and Queen Avery fell in love. Reynard Reyne killed her abusive husband and per tradition married her and then became the king. And no longer was he Reynard Reyne, he changed his name to Eugene De Rain. The kingdom of the Waterlands flourished when it became unhidden, had large trade outposts, and allied with multiple kingdoms. The new king vowed for peace and never to have war again.
