Summary: this is short but Ian lost a patient at work and Mickey comforts him.
<fuck you Trevor it should have been Mickey when this happened. I'm #1 Trevor hater~~~
Ian pulled out his keys to him and Mickeys apartment. Halfway through the key turning he paused and breathed. He'd lost a patient at work that day. He felt awful about it.
Eventually he finally found the courage to open the door and walk in. Ian didn't want Mickey to see him like this but then again, he was his husband.
Mickey was sitting on the couch drinking a beer as Ian set down his keys, making Mickey notice he was home.
"Took you long enough," Mickey set down his beer and stood up to turn toward Ian, who was wiping tears off his face in the kitchen.
"Thought you got off at-" Mickey noticed Ian and paused. He walked over to him quickly.
"I lost a patient at work," he cried, "It was my fucking fault. I basically killed her-" his voice broke and his breathing got uneasy.
"Hey, hey," mickey brought him into a hug, his arms wrapped around Ian shoulders. He had to stand on the tip of his toes. Ian buried his face into Mickeys neck and let his body melt into his husbands. He felt much more at home.
Mickey guided him to the couch and they sat down together.
"Just watch a movie with me or something. Take your mind off of it," Mickey held out his beer for Ian to take a sip.
Ian looked at it and everything from that day came back to him again. He broke down once more, his head falling onto Mickeys chest. Mickey put the beer down on the coffee table quickly and placed his hand on the back of Ian's neck before laying his head down against a pillow.
Ian didn't move or say a word and neither did Mickey. Soon he was sound asleep on his chest, his arm limp hanging off the couch. Mickey kissed his head and smiled.
