CH 1

" .. so that's it for today . I appreciate you
for not sleeping in the class my dear
students, see you all tomorrow." Mr.O'Neil , our History teacher , waved us all towards the door.  I just shook my head while some of the guys snickered at his comment . History can be pretty boring sometimes and few have slept for the whole period like a dead log , for like 6 times already . And it's only the start of the year . No wonder he is grateful for today as nobody dozed off. Or maybe he just hasn't caught anyone today .

I  take out the French book outside of the bag and just when people start moving outside ,Mr O'Neil reminds us in a haste . " And don't forget your Assignment is due  this Friday !" .
Some nod their heads while a lot groaned in annoyance for forgetting it  . Pity, as they have to spend all night finishing it.
Oh ,not me  . I finished it the day it was given. But... I don't remember putting it inside my bag . Maybe it is still at home ? Yeah, that's it.
With that ,I start walking outside the classroom and towards my locker where a beautiful goddess is waiting for me. My best friend, my long time crush .The person I like and who sadly does not like me .My Eleanor.

  I have known her my whole life , u can say . I still remember how we met.

It was my 3rd day in the new school . I missed my old one every second as I had more friends there comparatively. I had joined in 2 months late, so everyone had their own little group and no one was willing to be friends with me. And to make things more difficult ,some kids had started bullying me for my attire of thick glasses and long hair. But the bullying was somewhat tolerable . But not for long.
I was just  enjoying my Marvel comic sitting under a tree one day ,when a few of my classmates came and plucked the comic right out of my hands and started tossing &catching it from each other's hands while I tried to retrieve it . Suddenly someone pushed me to the ground and i let out a loud cry of pain as the ground had small sharp rocks .I was crying ,taking the elbow in my other hand. I saw that one of the boys was tearing the pages off the book and just when I started getting up I felt a hand on my shoulder "I got this ". A girl with deep blue eyes stood in front of me and looked dead in the eyes of those boys. " Give him his comic book back!" She yelled at them . I kinda got scared  too with her tone. " W...we are not gonna. Whatcha gonna do?" One of the guys, Troy, asks. The next 15 seconds was in a flash. She kicked him in the shin and he was down  like a cooked prawn ,sobbing ,holding his leg. Witnessing this the other boys ran away in fear .My mouth was open the whole time .
"Here you go" she hands me my comic while giving a grin. I noticed she missed lots of teeth but still looked beautiful . I smiled back .
" I'm El" she outstretched her hand. I took it.
" What's your name again?" She asks.

"ARNIE!" I came out of my thoughts hearing her voice. " Here here " she waves me over to her .
I just roll my eyes."I think I know my own locker El."
"Well ,you were looking a little distracted u could've walked past through me . What were u thinking about ?"
You. " Nothing ".
"U got the book?" She asks
"Yep ,right here . Thanks for lending it for the weekend, my brother  really needed it to write those foreign idioms .  Heads up though , there are some lasagna stains on it  ,he dropped some on it while eating ." I replied, handing her the book.
" Oh no"
" Don't worry , nothing went waste . He ate it right off the book " she just slaps the book on my arm.
" Ow! Sorry .It's just on the last page." I defend ,she just huffs .
" Now I have to smell the damn smell every time I open the damn book. Ugh! Just when I thought learning French couldn't be  more difficult."  She leans against the locker.
"U want some help  with it" i ask
She just looks at me and smiles like she suddenly remembers something.
"Naah , Liam said he will help me. We're actually meeting in the cafeteria now for lun.....Shoot .He should be waiting. See ya!! " She leaves in a rush .
Right! How could I forget about the boyfriend. F#cking Liam !
