We made it into La Push and I parked the truck in a small parking lot a couple of ways from First Beach.

I remember being here last year when I was invited to First Beach- to go surfing with Angela, Mike, Eric, Tyler, and Jessica. We hiked for a bit and went surfing. Well, everyone else did, I stayed on dry land. That's also the day that I met Jake's friends- Embry and Quil. Jake and I walked along the shore away from everyone else and he told me about the Quileutes are descendants of wolves and how the Cullens were descendants from an enemy clan, and about a treaty that was made not to expose what the Cullen descendants were and to stay off of Quileute land.

If vampires are real....... then werewolves could also be real, possibly.

Jake and I walked down the beach and noticed that not many people were there. It was a cloudy day. We walked along the shoreline in silence and found a place to sit on a couple of logs overlooking the ocean.

I stared across the water, watching as it rolled onto the sandy beach. My eyes skimmed across the ominous ocean to rigid-sharped cliffs as the water continuously smashed against it in a furious rage.

"Of course, they're here," Jake mutter distastefully, looking at a group of boys running further down the beach throwing a football back and forth.

"Wait," I turned to him, "you mean to tell me those are people are....?!"

"Yup," he responded, " they think they run the place and do whatever they want."

"You have a problem with them?" I asked.

He sighed, "Quil calls them, 'wannabe WWE wrestlers,'...."

I watched as one of the boys tackled another boy.

I ask, turning to Jake, "what happened to them?"

"Yeah," Jake looked away from the cliff in disbelief, "Sam was first, he started to miss school, then one day he came back. The same thing happened to Paul and Jared."

As he said Paul's name, it sent an unexpected shiver down my spine. I felt some sort of unexplainable pull toward him. Something new and unfamiliar, yet at the same time it was scary.

"They look at us- Quil, Embry, and I, a lot," Jake said looking down, "It's creeping us out a bit"

"Well, you should just avoid them," I replied, reaching over and squeezing his hand. His hand was bigger than mine and rough, but it was also really warm. He squeezed my hand back and gave me a small smile. He let go of my hand.

"Come on," he said, nudging me, "I think we should go before they see us."

I nodded in agreeance and we both got up and began to walk back. We got a couple of feet before we heard someone call out to Jake.

"Jake!" the person yelled.

Jake froze beside me and looked over his shoulder to see the person that called out to him. I looked too and saw Jared jogging toward us with Sam Uley and who I assume is Paul in tow.

Jake and I stood face-to-face with the three bulking Quileute men. I could tell that Jake was intimidated but tried not to show it. Sam stood tall and very authoritarian over us. Jared was behind him, bouncing up and down in anticipation. While Paul stood close to Sam- silent and observant.

I noticed that Paul was slim, but at the same time also muscular. I didn't notice that my eyes had lazily traveled up and down until they locked with a pair of brown eyes with a glint of mischievousness in them. My eyes widened in shock that I had been caught and I could also feel a slight blush wipe across my face.

"What do you want Sam?" Jake asked, bringing Paul and me out of the staring contest.

"How's your dad, Jacob?" Sam's deep voice asked.

"He's fine," Jake replied, "now, what do you want?"

"Easy Jake," Jared interrupted, "we're wondering what you two were doing instead of being in school."

"School got let out early on the rez," Jake sneered, "you would know if you still went there."

My eyes widened in surprise. I have never heard of or seen Jake get this riled up before.

"Jake, calm down," I said and softly gripping his bicep.

As I did that, Paul let out a low growl and took a step forward. Jake took a protective stance in front of me and essentially went toe-to-toe with the other teenager.

"Enough," Sam ordered getting in the middle of the two.

Sam turned to Paul, "stand down."

Paul began to shake and huff angrily.

Sam turned to us, "I think you both should go."

"Don't have to tell me twice," Jake muttered, then grabbed my hand gently and began to pull me away from the other boys.

As we got further away from the boys, I turned around and saw a shaking Paul run into the woods with Jared and Sam in tow.

A/N: I will try to update as much as I can this week. Next week I start my second semester at college, so updates will be slow.
