I stood there looking at where he stood as time slowly passed by me. I've probably been here for hours. I looked up at the sky and see it getting dark. My feet move subconsciously, I walked around the woods when my feet gave away from hurting so much. I crumbled to the ground, curling myself in a ball, I cried for what seemed like an everlasting eternity. Until I heard people calling for me.

"Bella!" They yelled, "where are you?!"

"Sam I smell her sent!" Embry, I think yelled.

"I'll follow it!" Sam yelled back. Sam's yells kept coming closer and closer, but I couldn't respond, my voice stopped working.

"Bella." I heard Sam say, I lifted my tear-stained face to his bronze-coloured one. Sam smiled kindly and came over, gently lifting me in his arms.

"You scared us, Bells." He said looking down at me.
"Sorry, Sam." I apologize softly. He nodded.

"What were you doing in the woods in the first place?" He asked concerned. I cringed slightly at the thought of Edward.

"Edward left me, he told me I wasn't good enough for him," I said. Sam growled and started to shake, so I touched his shoulder and he calmed almost instantly.

"You wouldn't leave me like him, right? Any of you?" I asked softly while looking up at him. We got out of the forest, I saw squad cars and a number of people with flashlights outside of my house.

"Yes, I promise the pack won't leave you like the Leech and his so-called family," Sam said. When he insulted them, it didn't make me mad that he would say that. It's like I don't care for them anymore.

"I believe you," I said. He looked at me gently. We got to everyone and my dad put me in a blanket.

"Thank you, Sam," Charlie said as he held me tight to his chest, afraid that I might disappear again.

"My pleasure, Chief Swan," Sam replied. Sam walked away to where the rest of the pack was, by Billy's truck. While the rest of the search party disbanded and went home.

"Jesus, Bella," my dad exclaimed, "you're freezing."

"Sorry dad," I embarrassingly said, tucking my head deeper into the blanket.

"Is alright kid," he replied, "just don't do it again." He kissed my forehead affectionately.

Charlie walked me to the house and up the stairs. I turned around towards the woods to see the pack run off into the dark brush as piercing brown eyes gazed into mine.

Then they were gone.

Charlie and I went into the house and upstairs to our rooms. I said goodnight and quickly got underneath the covers of my bed due to the cold. I never realized how much I disliked the cold until now.

Due to exhaustion, I fell asleep rather quickly, dreaming of only the gaze of the dark brown eyes that are engraved into my very soul.
