Felix's parents split up when he was 8, Almost 9. Although he was still a child, He had always noticed how his parents weren't exactly in love. Well his mom was, But it just so happened to be with another man. It was rare for him to see his Mom, About 5 times a year. And his dad barely spoke to him. Every year he would see her less and less. And his dad was around but he never paid him much attention. It's like he blamed Felix for the divorce. Him being an only child didn't make this easy.Growing up without a motherly figure in his life had affected him greatly. He craved the affection and care that a Mother would usually provide during childhood. This particular craving led him to unconsciously depend on his Best friend, Chan. He met Chan a year after his parents divorce. They quickly became best friends having things in common.
Being Felix's best-friend meant Chan had less free time, didn't have many other friends. But he didn't mind. Felix was his best friend, his soulmate. If being Felix's friend meant that he could care for someone in the way he had never been cared for, He's all for it.
Sophomore yearOne day things started to change. Chan started seeing him differently - Noticing all the little things about Felix. Things nobody would notice unless they'd spent an insane amount of time with him (which Chan has.) The way his eyes sparkled making brownies, how he loved flowers, How he'd only shower at night. Chan was scared, Felix was one of his best friends. The last thing he wants is to lose him over something as stupid as a crush. He was confused - and reckless, So he did the only thing that seemed right: push Felix away.
Day by day he starts telling Felix different things. "I cant hang out today" or "no im sitting with someone else ''. And Felix is clueless as to what Chan is doing. He just thinks Chan is busy. So he respects it. One day Chan and Felix are sitting in the courtyard talking about random things when finally Chan speaks up. "Felix i think... i think we should spend some time apart, i need some space" He says getting up. "But why? Did I do something?" Felix says slowly getting up. Chan doesn't respond walking away. He notices Felix following him so he starts jogging. But Felix does too. So he runs. He runs into the school trying to lose him.
Chan runs down the main hall Felix still close behind him. Felix pulls chans hoodie making chan face him,
"Why are you doing this?" Felix asks shakely looking into his eyes.
"You're too clingy okay. God I feel like i can never breathe around you anymore" chan responds almost yelling looking away, all eyes in the hall slowly focus on the two friends fighting.Lies. that's all chan was saying, but he needed to get away from felix, felix can't know about his feelings, about how their not platonic anymore
"After everything, all these years, you never told me. This is my fault isn't it " Felix states, almost crying.
Felix's emotions are all over the place, he feels anger, fear, but most of all betrayal, after all his best friend just told him he feels like he's suffocating because of him. Chan was all he had
"Of course its your fault, you never let me fucking breathe, your always by me, following me around like a lost little puppy" Chan says with anger filling every word. Chan regretted saying that knowing it's due to his parents.
"Fine then i guess you won't have to worry about me anymore since that's what you want right?"
Felix turns pushing through the large cluster of students wiping his eyes as he runs away from the one person he cares for most. Chan stands their with watery eyes quickly wiping them before they fall walking the other way
Everyone knew Felix and Chan were inseparable, always together, always.. Laughing, talking . How did they get to this?
