FAYRE'S POV
I ran back to my room in heavy tears crumpling on my futon with a hard thud. I kept crying until my eyes were as red as my eyes before I started rubbing them and removing my makeup. I changed my kimono into a soft magenta sleeping kimono and let my hair down. I was about to go to cry on my futon before I heard a thud coming from the ceiling. I staggered back in fear tumbling on my bag in the way, hurting my leg.
"Hnn...!" I softly shrieked holding my leg in pain.
A small ceiling opening popped out, revealing the man from the cliff who I recognized all too well. I was about to scream but I silenced myself before it somehow got ten times worse. I looked up into his deep brown eyes and his deadpan expression and was about to start crying again into my futon, ready to ignore him.
"...Fayre, are you alright? Physically and emotionally, that is?"
"No. Haha!! Isn't it funny how life works?" I said with a wry, self-deprecating smile.
"Fayre, what happened? I'm worried about you. I'm so sorry I haven't been able to reach you in these two months." Sasuke said with something that looked to be a frown.
"I really don't want to talk about it, if that's okay. I just hope you've been doing w-well...!" I stuttered sobbing loudly in my futon.
Sasuke leaped down silently and wrapped his arms around me gently, comfortingly. He rubbed his hand over my back in a soothing way and I felt my tears starting to dry but his arms felt so comfortable at the same time. I stayed in his warm arms before I let go, giving him a weak smile.
"Thank you for that, I'm- uh.. sorry you had to see that," I said, looking down at my feet slightly embarrassed.
"It is okay, Fayre. What matters to me right now is that you're okay. Now, you seem that you are fine emotionally right now, but what about physically? You're still holding your leg, is it broken or will it be okay?" Sasuke said looking at my leg intently with evident concern in his brown eyes.
"I believe it will be okay, Sasuke but thanks for asking. However, I feel as though you didn't come here just to check on me. Is there some other reason you came here?" I asked tilting my head.
"There is. You see, the next wormhole is going to open in one month. I'm just reminding you in case you've forgotten, and on the day the wormhole will be present, I will pick you up and we will go back to the future to where we belong." Sasuke said with a small trace of a smile.
(Only a month? I do care for the Oda, but I don't see myself staying with them anymore. How could I? Mitsunari shouldn't be concerned for his safety or be sad just because my adoration for him is oh, so one-sided.)
"Thank you for reminding me, Sasuke. I really don't want you to be caught, so I think you should go soon---" I said before I realized Sasuke had already somehow vanished.
I started to clean up because I knew I looked terrible and finally went to bed, hoping tomorrow will be a better day.
(Oh, Mitsu... I'm so sorry for the stuff I've done. I hope you can forgive me one day.) A single tear landed on my cheek as it trickled down to stain my futon along with its other tear buddies.
