"I sure hope Kendall's right about the gold energem." Tyler commented as he, Koda, Riley and Chase entered the cafe.
"You and me both." Eliott responded, turning the corner and joining them.
The five sat around a large table in their excavation uniforms. "Kendall said we should check the south west creek beds." Tyler informed.
"Okay we're looking for pteradactyl fossil. That's the dinosaur that bonded with the gold energem." Riley said.
"Actually, pteradactyl was a large flying reptile, not a dinosaur." Eliott corrected him nonchalantly.
Shelby approached the table with a giant tray. "Free samples. Chef's trying a new recipe." She told them. Immediately everyone vied for a slice of the cake she presented.
"Awesome!" Tyler said excitedly but the slice was knocked from his hands by Riley. "Hm, a bit tasteless." He eyed Riley.
"Nobody touch it." Riley ordered.
"No cake?" Koda questioned, mouth agape.
"Chill bro, a little cake never hurt anyone." Chase scolded him.
"Yeah, tell that to them." Riley pointed at a few customers who were groaning in pain and holding their jaws. Sinister laughing came from the kitchen and Tyler pointed out a monster behind the counter.
"You guys take the front, we'll go through the kitchen." He said to Chase, Riley and Eliott.
"We'll cut him off!" Chase called back.
Once they were outside, their comms beeped, "He escaped out the back."
"Got it. Closing in now." Eliott responded.
"We got a visual." Riley informed, spotting the monster fleeing.
"Energise, unleash the power." They announced as they morphed, wuti black, green and orange auras surrounding them. They took chase, blasting at the monster with their dino blasters.
"Out of the frying pan and into the firing zone!" The monster cried.
"He's getting away!"
"Take the shot Chase!" Eliott encouraged.
A finely placed shot knocked the monster down and allowed the three to catch up with him. They flipped over him and cut him off. "Ugh, someone needs a dental plan!" Chase mocked.
"I'm going to rot more than just your teeth!" the monster's teeth emitted a purple glow and a matching blast of energy fired at them, but they dodged out of the way and it hit a tree, rotting the whole thing.
"The tree's decaying!"
"This guy's serious!"
"Don't let him escape! He'll rot the entire city!" Tyler yelled as he raced towards them.
"Vivix, attack!" The monster demanded, they began occupying Tyler.
"I'll beat you like eggs!"
