Taylor's POV:

Today is the twin's 6th birthday! All month they've been saying that they don't want anything and that they've never celebrated their birthday before so Joe and I have decided that we're 100% giving them the best birthday ever!

I got Austin and Selena to be able to come for two-three days and they're so happy to do this for the kids. I hardly had to finish my sentence before they both said that they were already blocking off their calendars and booking flights. The twins already met both of them once last month so it'll be nice for them to see them again since they adored them.

Joe and I stayed up for half the night after the kids were tucked in just decorating the house. I mean birthday decorations have gradually been added around the house since June 1st so the kids don't freak out because they said that they don't like their birthday and never do anything for it. But today is game day. I'm going to be shocked if the kids still don't like their birthday after today.

The kids' room is filled with balloons and on the wall horizontally touching one bed or the other is a banner with either HAPPY BIRTHDAY ARCHER!!!!!! or HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEXIE!!!!!! written on it. The walls have a bunch of streamers taped up too. It was so hard to do all of this without waking the twins. I'm just praying that neither of them needs to sleep with their sibling tonight or have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night so they don't see anything till the morning.

Downstairs on the coffee table in the living is two giant stacks of presents that spilled onto the floor on either side due to the size of some of the items taking up so much space. One pile is for Archer and the other is for Lexie. I hope you've caught onto the fact that we tend to separate certain things to make things easier.

Joe wrapped most of the presents since he's much better at that than I am. I tried to wrap two of them, they were perfect rectangular boxes and I still failed miserably to make them pretty so I put bows on them to try and cover up the excessive amount of tape I used on both. Joe sat there laughing at me.

Anyway, the twins have no idea about anything happening. They don't know about Austin and Selena, or their presents, or their cakes, or even what we're doing for the rest of the day for that matter.

Regarding cakes, the twins have made it clear that they love mythical creatures- more so than real animals- with the exception of aquatic animals and six very specific land animals that is. So Joe and I came up with the idea that they should each get their own mini cake with their favorite animal on it. Archer is getting a dinosaur cake with a T-Rex action figure on top since that's his favorite dinosaur and Lexie is getting a unicorn cake with a unicorn action figure on top since she's obsessed with them. We figured it was two in one; a cake and a toy.

Austin and Selena are arriving at 8:30 and we're going to Luna Park in Coney Island at 9:00 since the park opens at 10:00 AM and we want to get there early so we can be as close to the first ones in as possible. Joe and I have been wanting to bring the kids there so we figured why not go for their birthday? I mean a lot of kids go to Disneyland for the first time on their birthday so why not do Coney Island? There are plenty of rides for them to go on plus there's an arcade and carnival games.

Joe and I wake up to two loud shrieks. Welp, the twins have definitely seen their room. My clock reads 6:30 AM. This tends to be the typical wake-up time around here. My boyfriend and I jump out of bed and walk into the kids' room.

"Happy birthday cuties!" I say. I love calling them that when I address the pair of them and they seem to like it. "It looks like a bomb went off in here!" says Archer, looking around. "A rainbow bomb," says Lexie. Joe and I shrug. "I like it!" says Archer. "I love it!" says Lexie. They both bounce out of bed and hug their favorite adult. Archer hugs me and Lexie hugs Joe.
