Gulf was alone in this world, surviving without parents. He had relatives, but they were selfish and treated him poorly, only interested in his money. At the young age of 14, Gulf, a sweet, innocent, and quiet kid, decided to live alone in his apartment.
He was a poor guy with very little money. He relied on his parents' savings, as they had tragically passed away in an accident a few years ago. Somehow, he managed to secure a free scholarship to study at a school. Being an average student, it was challenging for him to obtain the scholarship, but he persevered through hardship. Being an only child may have played a role in him receiving it.
As he got ready and fixed his hair, Gulf looked at himself in the mirror, letting out a sigh. He didn't want to live like this. His daily routine consisted of waking up, getting dressed, going to school, coming back, doing household chores, and then sleeping. He had no friends, and his introverted nature made it difficult for others to approach him, finding him boring.
But deep down, he knew he could do it. Walking out of the apartment, Gulf locked the door and placed the key into his bag....
Carrying his heavy bag, Gulf walked slowly until he finally reached the school. With frustration, he let out a sigh. He hated school because he had been bullied before. Being a chubby guy, people used to call him names like "fatty" and "ugly" and even laugh at him. In the past, his parents were there to protect him, but now he was alone with no one to rely on or share things with.
As he entered his new classroom, Gulf searched for an empty seat. Finally, he found a perfect spot in the corner. He placed his bag under the seat and started scribbling on his notebook. Just then, another student rushed into the classroom and sat down beside him.
Adjusting his glasses, the student politely asked, "Can you please shift a little bit?" Gulf's size took up a lot of space...
""I...I can't," Gulf said, expressing his inability to shift due to the lack of space. He looked away, feeling a bit uncomfortable as the guy managed to sit closely beside him.
As class started, Gulf accidentally placed his hands on the guy's thighs. The guy glared at Gulf and forcefully shrugged his hands away.
"I'm really sorry," Gulf bowed down and sincerely apologized for his bad habit of touching without thinking.
The guy didn't reply, and finally, it was recess time. Gulf was lost in his thoughts, staring out of the window, when a delicious smell caught his attention. He glanced at his benchmate, who was enjoying some tasty food. Gulf's mouth watered as he looked away, only to be interrupted by a group of students approaching.
"Hey, you fatty," one of the guys who just entered the class spoke, causing Gulf to pout sadly.
"You're a new student, and since you're not doing anything, go clean the board and pick up all the papers from the floor," he said, assigning this duty to Gulf to bully him, taking advantage of his position as the hygiene in-charge of the class.
Gulf stood up to go and, rubbing his cute tummy, he playfully bumped Mew's face on his way out. He looked at Mew to apologize, but Mew had no expression on his face.
"Hey, fatty, don't you know you're fat? Look, you troubled Mew," a girl spoke, grabbing Gulf's hands. Gulf pouted his lips in response.
"It's okay, leave him," Mew said, looking back at his notebook.
Gulf proceeded to clean the board and pick up all the papers. After washing his hands, he was coming out of the washroom when he bumped into Mew again. Gulf went left, and Mew went left too. Then Gulf went right, and the other guy went right too. Mew sighed, holding his shoulder, and turned their positions, walking into the washroom while Gulf walked out.
Sitting beside his seat, Gulf looked at a big bar of chocolate placed on it. Since he was hungry, he immediately pulled out the chocolate and started eating it. Just then, Mew stood up in front of him.
"That was mine!" Mew opened his mouth wide, looking angry at Gulf. Gulf quickly took out a piece of chocolate from his mouth and shoved it into Mew's mouth.
Mew frowned and unwillingly gulped it down because the chocolate was already in his mouth.
"How old are you?" Mew asked, sitting down beside Gulf.
"Umm...I'm 16."
"You're 16, not 6. Didn't your parents teach you not to shove chocolate into anyone's mouth after you've already eaten it?" Mew said sternly. Gulf pouted, feeling sorry because he had only done it out of fear.
"I'm sorry," Gulf said, looking down. Mew just rolled his eyes and went back to reading his book.
Finally, the class ended. Gulf stood up, excited to go back home, while Mew was still sitting. Gulf walked out, but suddenly his legs got stuck under the bench rod. Before he could fall, Mew hurriedly held his body and pulled him back.
Gulf stared into Mew's eyes when Mew spoke.
"Get off, you're very heavy," he said. Sadly, Gulf cautiously walked away. Mew stared at him and packed his bag to leave as well.
While walking out of the school onto the street, Gulf looked at Mew, who was on his bicycle, and waved his hands.
"Can you drop me off, new friend?" he asked, giving Mew a big smile.
"No," Mew said, about to go away. But then he looked at Gulf's red, sweaty face and realized how hot it was.
"Okay, fine. Sit," he said, patting the back seat. Gulf happily sat down, worrying about Mew's reaction because he was chubby and people always scolded him for that. Fortunately, Mew didn't complain about it, and finally, Mew dropped him off at home.
Before Gulf could even thank him, Mew immediately left, and with a pout, Gulf went inside his apartment.
