"Wolf's Bane"

__________

"Suspect is on foot!"

-----

Tye was on his motorcycle and Casey was driving Derek's car and Scott was in the backseat, as Stiles sat in the passenger seat.

Casey had her own personal police radio attached to the dashboard in the front seat of the car, and she pressed down further on the gas pedal. "Get in!" Casey shouted and Stiles jumped into the backseat and Derek dove into the passenger seat, yanking the door shut as Casey drove quicker.

"Good timing." Derek noted.

"I'm a cop, remember? I'm committing multiple felonies just being in the same car as you, much less helping you escape." Casey reminded as she sped up, shifting gears quickly. "I would ask how you got rid of the dogs, but, I think that I already know." Casey said.

"What part of laying low don't you understand?" Scott snapped at Derek from the backseat.

"Damn it, I had him!" Derek shouted and he smacked the dashboard of his car, as Casey continued driving like a woman possessed.

"Who, the Alpha?" Stiles asked the obvious question from the backseat and a motorcycle pulled in behind them, catching up quickly.

"Yes! He was right in front of me, and the freaking police showed up." Casey coughed at the words. "No offense."

"None taken. You have been cooped up for a week, you have every right to be grumpy." Casey muttered.

"Oh, hey, they are just doing their jobs..." Stiles for once, made the wise decision to not continue speaking, at the look on Derek's face.

"Yeah, thanks to someone who decided to make me the most wanted fugitive in the entire state." Derek said as he stared at Scott.

"Can we seriously get past that? I made a dumbass mistake. I get it."

"You also gave the hunters free reign to kill him, you realize that, right?" By the look that was currently on his face, that hadn't occurred to Scott, and Casey sighed at the look. "We need somewhere safe to regroup. Somewhere that the alpha can't get into."

"What about yours?" Derek asked as she sighed, nodding a little. "We can't get out, unless you let us out. But then there is the problem of my car."

"I have a warehouse under a pseudonym, that I can stash it quickly in for now." Casey said and she dialed a number. "Hey, Trent. I need a favor from you." She said and after she had hung up, they were ditching Derek's car and switching it for Trent's SUV.

Casey drove off quickly after getting Trent's keys from him and Derek was right back in the front seat quickly.

"All right. How did you find him anyway?" Stiles asked and Derek looked at Casey, who shrugged a bit at the look.

"Can you try to trust us for at least half a second? You trust Casey, why not us?" Scott asked.

"Did he really just say that?" Casey asked.

"Yup." Derek said as a few moments later, he sighed. "Look, the last time I talked to my sister, she was getting really close to figuring, something out. She found two things. The first was a guy named Harris."

"Wait, the dick-head of a chemistry teacher?" Casey asked and Derek was looking at her. "Sorry, Tye hates him."

"I don't think anybody likes him."

"The second thing, it-it was some kind, of a symbol." Derek quickly unfolded a piece of paper and Casey glanced at it.

"Shit." Casey muttered.

"What?" Derek asked.

"It's a symbol that the Argents from centuries ago, used as a sort of Crest for their family. Your family had the triskelion, that symbol... it was the Argent family's version." She said and Scott cursed.

"I have seen it before, on a necklace. Allison's necklace." Scott said and Casey continued driving at a fast pace.

Casey was parked outside of the long-term care and she looked over at the Jeep, and Derek was sitting in the passenger seat and he slammed Stiles' head into the steering wheel.

"Dare I ask?" She said and she got into the driver's seat of the Jeep, in silence.

"He used me to get a gay kid to track the text that Scott had apparently sent to Allison." Derek said as Stiles called him quickly. "He's the Alpha, get out!"

"Peter?" Casey asked.

"Peter." Derek said grimly as Casey jumped out of the Jeep as Derek sent up a howl for Tye. Casey grabbed her familiar Glock 19s' that were filled with mistletoe and wolfsbane bullets.

"Don't get in the way of my firing range." Casey advised and Derek was nodding, as they both walked into the long-term care facility.

Peter was standing up and he chuckled at the sight of the two. "You always were a pair to behold. Casey Branson, a renegade hunter, whose entire body is covered in burns and you, a fighter in the least." Peter said and Casey open-fired at him and he spat blood, as she continued firing at him.

As soon as Casey stopped firing to reload, Derek attacked Peter in a clear fury. Casey left the guns alone and she grabbed a knife in each hand, and she flung them at Peter.

They both lodged into his back and Peter shouted in pain as Casey lunged and she kicked him in the back, as the knives were forced deeper. Peter was able to grab her by the throat and his eyes shone red.

"Should I bite her now, Derek? It would be fun to see the horror on her face, smell it all over her when she realized what exactly the monster that she was going to become. "We hunt those who hunt us," the hunters say. But for Casey, it would be "Those we hunt, we become." Right?" Casey, she was choking and scratching at Peter's wrist.

An earthshaking roar, the sound echoed and tore through the hospital as two blurs slammed into Peter, and Casey went skidding down the hall.

Tye and Derek, they were both snarling loudly at Peter. Derek and Tye slashed at Peter from both sides as Casey was backing up, taking in air like there was no tomorrow.

Derek had been thrown through the glass of the reception area and Casey's eyes flashed, as she managed to get up and scrambled after him and Tye was holding off Peter. "Derek..."

"I'll heal." Derek said and she looked at him. "It will take longer, since he's an alpha--"

"He will try to manipulate you again and again, Derek, I already know it. It happened to you back in high school, it will happen to you again." She said and he looked at her. "Do you trust me or not?" She asked and he looked at the doorway, as they could hear the crashing sounds... of what must be a good fight between Tye and Peter. "Do you?" She asked.

"Get out of here." Derek said and she looked at him. "Go. Tye can't hold him off forever." He said and she nodded a little, as she stood up. "No goodbyes."

"No goodbyes." Casey agreed with a very shaky tone, and she grabbed her only remaining knife from the floor, as she took off running out the back door.
