Chapter 37

"Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable Elle. You and I have forever to live our lives."

"Can I ask you a question?"

"Sure."

"At my engagement party I saw you and my cousin talking then you left the room with my brother."

"I was at a party I didn't want to be at because I knew you didn't remember our relationship. It hurt seeing you with James and my dad told me not to say anything to you about our relationship. Since you clearly didn't remember and they may have done something to your memories."

"I'm sorry I caused you pain would it help to know the first time I saw you I got butterflies."

"You did?"

"Yeah, I didn't understand why I was feeling that way. I kept staring at you and I think James noticed and that's why he hurt me."

He places an arm around me, "He will never hurt you again."

I know he was telling me the truth, "I know. It's strange Andrea has money now but she still has to stay on the estate."

"They have lots of cottages on it I'm sure she will have her own space.  Something tells me if she wants the penthouse as a base they will give it to her to use till Joseph takes it from her. Susan is going to be a grandmother. I'm sure she will make sure she lives in the main house for years. Why the change of subject to Andrea?"

"I was just thinking how she ignored me at the will reading. I get it she knew James would go mad if he saw us talking together. She is the one who has to go home with him and who knows what he would do to her."

"Look we need to stop talking about her because her part in our story is done. Susan will take care of her plus she has her family and all that money."

"You're right," I put my arms around his neck and kiss him.

Right after our engagement interview we took the plane to Canada. "Do you want something to eat Elle?" He ask.

"I'll have a sandwich." We're were four hours into our ten hour flight and I was half excited and half knackered.

Freddie comes back to our seat with a tuna and sweetcorn sandwich and a can of Fanta. I take it from him and starts eating.

"I love that this is our second trip together by ourselves and we're staying in a small town again."

"L.A was pretty special I like the small towns. We can be normal and people don't tend to recognise us," explains Freddie.

"I love that aspect of it too."

I look around the mansion we decide to come to Nova Scotia instead of Newfoundland because we found a great house near the ocean.

"Let's leave the unpacking till tomorrow the fridge is fully stock. So is the freezer and cupboard. There's enough food here to last us for two weeks."

Nova Scotia was beautiful and it wasn't too hot which I loved.

Federico's POV

In the past

Freddie was on the streets of Copenhagen fighting with his parents. It was easy to spot the enemy. They all wore clothes to identify themselves with a racist group. He gave the intel he was given to Johan's man Elliot who was previously a special forces soldier. They cracked the code Johan sent out with the list found in the prime ministers real home.

All around him royals from Spain, Sardinia and Italy was fighting the enemy. He sees his sister hit someone with a blank of wood. He watch as Countess Susan and her family fight bravely.
