Kingston
I finished walking down the stairs and hovered over Joleen's short stature. Joleen stood in front of me while my father blabbered threats on the phone. If I were younger and more insecure about my position as a leader I would actually give a shit about the threats my father was hurling through the phone.
Nothing he said actually bothered me and we both knew that, even if he wanted to, he couldn't show up to my house unannounced.
My father was concerned for Wyatt, probably even more concerned than I think he could ever be for my own well-being, but right now, he would have to stay in the dark. He wanted answers but I had very little I could give.
Interrupting his rambling, I spoke up. At the same time, Joleen stood in front of me, rolling her eyes.
"Wyatt is fine and he's recovering."
More questions and rambling spewed through the phone.
I didn't have the patience or time to continue to reassure my father.
*CLICK!*
I simply hung up.
Placing the phone back into my pocket, I placed my attention on Joleen. By the anger boiling in her blue eyes and her arms being crossed over her chest, I knew she was pissed.
Tapping her foot at me, she began.
"I haven't told your dad about the nigger you're keeping in the house, but I'm this close." She squeezed her index and thumb fingers together to give me an idea of what she meant.
Joleen's hatred for Kaylani went deeper than just her skin color; Joleen was insecure when it came to women.
In fact, Joleen was notorious for being jealous of every woman I encountered no matter how platonic our relationships were. Because of this, she rarely got along with females.
Joleen needed reassurance of my feelings towards her and I knew exactly how to shut her up and avoid a fight tonight. Would it hold her over till tomorrow? Maybe... but at this point, I didn't care. It was an emotionally draining day and I needed to relieve some stress and find some semblance of peace.
What I was doing next would be mutually beneficial for both of us.
Holding out my hand, I gestured for Joleen to come closer.
"Jojo, come here.." I tried to soften my voice from the killer I was to a lover I could be.
Joleen hesitated. She was always putty in my hands whenever I used her nickname.
"Don't you... 'Jojo come here me.'" She stated with her arms still crossed. "We need to discuss the issue of the bitch upstairs. I need to draw some clear lines on expectations."
I ambled closer to her, closing the gap between us.
"Jojo, there's nothing to worry about." I caressed her arm lightly with my finger tips. "I got everything under control and I know exactly where I stand with you, the lines couldn't be clearer."
I watched as Joleen looked down at my fingers gently gliding over her pinky white skin.
Goosebumps soon appeared all over her skin, letting me know I was affecting her just the way I wanted. Soon she would be putty in my hands and she would shut the hell up about the doctor upstairs.
"This distraction isn't gonna work..." Joleen trailed off as I peered down at her intently, capturing her blue gaze with mine.
I towered over her by a foot and I knew she absolutely loved how big I was in comparison to her size.
