Chapter 10 - Brothers

The next day, at 9 o'clock in the morning, André was thinking deeply as he sat in his bed. His wolf's suggestion for Sylvia to go to the Temple of the Eclipse will mean...

I will accompany her right? She'll choose me for that quest right?...

A knock on the door disturbed Andrés thoughts.

He opened the door and saw two werewolves, definitely not from his pack, staring back at him. André saw some men from his own pack, around 6 guys slowly positioning themselves, ready to protect André.

"Who are you? What do you need from me." He asked in a low growl.

The older one flinched. He moved in front of the younger one. He humbled himself a bit and said:

"We're the older brothers of Sylvia, can we talk?"

André relaxed. He motioned for the his pack to back down. The brothers noticed this.

"Thank you. We just need a bit of your time." Maine said.

"Let's go in an open field.  The Sunken Garden near the library have a lot of resting areas for students.  Let's have a peaceful talk there."

The brothers agreed.  Though there are eyes following them from both packs, there's no hostility in the air.  The three sat on one of the study tables in the garden.

"Our Sylvia as you know is an Omega.  Aside from that she's the runt of the family having been born the third when usually werewolf only have one or two pups.  She's kind of a miracle in itself.  The pack adored her and took care of her all her life not just my family.  We don't believe that Omegas should be discriminated against like other packs do, rather, we all have the social responsibility to take care of her and make sure she's safe and protected.  After all, she's a little weaker, that, we need to accept."

"Yes I agree. Actually we don't have an omega in our pack.  She's rare in my eyes as well.  So what is it that you want to talk about aside from this?"  André wants to know the brothers' true intention.

"We know that in the last few months, you have become her usual companion.  For that we are really grateful. However, we heard that you had a midnight run last night.  We rushed because our Sylvia normally lets Lexa run with our mom's inner wolf in our territory.  We gathered information as to who she spent her midnight run with."

"Yes.  Her wolf asked to be accompanied last night. We don't know what they talked about though. As for me being with her always, truth be told, I enjoy being with her. I like her."

The brother looked at each other. Fear set in their eyes.

"Pardon us, but our sister—-"

"Yes, I also know that she was broken hearted twice.  First by the cruel twist of fate, and second by her cruel True Alpha." André sighed.

"Look, let's cut to the chase,  I know why you wanna talk to me. You just wanna know what is there between us.  Now that I said I like her, you wanna know if I'm gonna hurt her.  Your mind is already wondering what if history repeats itself and she gets hurt again.  Am I right so far?"

"Yes." Both brothers replied.

"I never had a girlfriend.  I think it was a waste of time if it turned out that the one I'm with isn't the one the Moon Goddess destined for me.  So even if I like her, even if my heart yearns for her, I cannot take the risk.  My 18th birthday is coming up, if she turns out to be my mate, I would be the luckiest Alpha.  If not, I promise to spend my life helping her find her true Alpha.  Like I said, I like her.  Does that brings you peace?"

He looked at the loving brothers whose concern for their baby sister is infinite. They nodded.

"Also, like I said, I like her.  Even during the first time I approached her, my thought is already set to protect her because at first glance, you will automatically know she's an Omega.  My feelings developed overtime.  She's a great person.  She a happy person.  She's funny and caring.  I can assure you, I care for her and only aim for her safety too.  As an Alpha who is always beside her, nobody will dare hurt her."

"Thank you Alpha André.  My family owes you."

"It's fine really.  I knew you love her very much."

"Brothers!!!"  Lucas immediately stood so he can catch his little sister.  Her habit of jumping to be carried never changed since she was young.  And that she did, almost knocking him over but he was able to maintain his balance.

She kissed him on the cheek.  As usual Maine slipped his hands to get her from Lucas so he can carry her too.

"Hey I'm here too baby."  Sylvia kissed his cheek too.  Maine dropped her gently and she took a seat beside André.

"So you knew André already?!"

"Yes, we need to give gratitude to someone who looks after our unruly baby sister."  Lucas looked at her lovingly. They both stood up.

"We need to go now though, my class starts in an hour and Lucas needs to go to the student council meeting."

"Baby, please don't bother our neighbor Alpha too much."  Said Lucas and nodded to André.

"I'm not!" She pouted. They left in a hurry.

"I'm not a bother aren't I?"  She looked at André.

"No baby". He said putting air quotes on baby teasing her as to how her brothers address her.

"Stop teasing..."

"Alright, shall we go get lunch?"

"Yeah okay, I'm already hungry."

Since that day, he started callng her "baby" too under pretense that he's teasing her.
