🎶It's my first broken heart, my dreams with him have ended. It's my first broken heart— 🎶

The radio was shut in silence.

Why does every song relates to you if you are broken hearted?

Sylvia stared into the ceiling. Another weekend when my thoughts will be filled by memories of being with Eric, with Lanie, the magical acceptance of the two and their wolves and it repeats into a loop of endless emotional turmoil.

It's been a month. She goes to school normally. Well not normally now that she prefers to stay alone. But that solitude kept her going. It's a good thing that Eric already graduated last year, only 1 person to keep away from. Lanie gave her that too. She kept her distance.  Even the pack is careful around her.

She focused on her studies, she reads a lot after doing homework. Since they will graduate soon, her concentration is now in ensuring she gets in the Moon Winter University just like her brothers.  She targets education major just like her mother.

It's actually not their fault. She's not blaming them from falling for each other. It's what the Moon Goddess destined for them to be. You can't tempt fate. Or can we?

Let them be happy. Her inner wolf Lexa whispered and emerged from her subconscious.

It's not like I don't want to. They're the closest people to me aside from my family. I just need time to heal my heart. You feel it too right? The pain? The loss of someone I loved for 2 years?. Sylvia asked.

Sweetheart, I sympathize. But as your wolf, you know I never trembled in the presence of Alpha Eric. But I do understand. I was with you in those 2 years. I'm sorry it happened. Let's hope we get to meet your true Alpha okay? Lexa comforted her.

Thank you Lexa. Sylvia said and Lexa retreated into her subconcious.

It's been 2 months. She can already talk with Lanie. There's really nothing to talk about, you know pertaining to what happened. Because... Fate happened.

One day, Sylvia just dropped by Lanie's house so they can go to school together. She is still hurt of course. But she cannot wallow in self-pity forever. She can't get mad at the Moon Goddess either. She doesn't want eternal damnation.

Their school is attended by about 5 different packs and strategically placed and built in order to be accessible for the surrounding packs. Students are divided into different sections limiting the number of students per teacher.

The classes went on as usual and now it's time for lunch.  The two girls were almost finished.  Lanie is now texting Eric.  Sylvia is setting up her music playlist in her cellphone.

Suddenly she caught a whip of crisp refreshing evergreen smell of pine in winter.  She went and tried to follow it.  She walked towards the open field in the school grounds but the scent dissipated.

The next day, while washing her hands and face after the gym class with Lanie, she smelled the same refreshing familiar scent.

It's our Alpha. Lexa whispered.

Indeed, but where is he? Sylvia answered telepathically.

Lanie called out to her but she didn't respond.

Sylvia is already immersed in her own wolrd.  She went and tried once again to follow the scent which led her in a storagehouse at the end of the school grounds. There she saw a tall student leaning in the wall of the storagehouse with his arms crossed. He is mysterious looking with piercing eyes and emanating Alpha vibes. Her Alpha.

She moved towards him anticipating, yearning for him. Something entirely different from what he felt for Eric.  She is being drawn to him.  This is her true Alpha. Lexa is doing her cute little jumps while swirling around in her subconsious.

So this is what it felt like..

"Stop." He gave a stern command. She was compelled to listen and obey.

"What's your name?" He demanded.

"I'm Sylvia Burgi of Grayfang Banes. I'm an—".

"Omega. Weak." He spat into the ground after saying the words. As if he tasted something bitter.  Before Sylvia can digest what he said about her being an omega, he stated in all confidence...

"I, Alvaro Schwarz of Deepfur Claws, reject you Sylvia Burgi, as my mate."

Almost instantly, Sylvia felt a burning sensation in her chest. Suddenly it got harder to breathe. Her eyes got stingy and tears began to fall uncontrollably. She knelt while clutching her chest as she struggled to breathe.

He knelt down without touching her.  No plans of helping her.

"Little girl, you need to accept. Sever our connection now.  Sure you can survive this rejection pain you are currently experiencing, it's not designed to kill anyway. However, once I start playing around, you'll feel the same pain over and over, letting you know I am with another woman. Every. Single. Time."

He stood up and straightened his uniform. He waited for her to accept.

"Hahhh..." he said impatiently.

"Nothing personal but my pack needs a strong Luna. You're nowhere to even be called woman."

Suddenly, a ghostlike figure of a wolf emerged from the top of his head and growled at Sylvia. Lexa whimpered in Sylvia's subconscious.

He doesn't want us... Sylvia thought. At these words, Lexa cried a long sad howl and whimpered pitifully.

As if guided by the something divine, calmness washed over Sylvia and then she uttered the words her Alpha wanted her to say, in one single breath.

"I, Sylvia Burgi of Grayfang Banes accept my fated Alpha's rejection wholeheartedly..."

"Perfect."  Her Alpha Alvaro Schwarz turned and left.

She fainted.
