"Do you mind if I observe for a bit?" Miss Carter asked Miss Keane as we were sitting in her lesson. "Yeah, absolutely. Grab a seat. We're just drafting up a class contract. Whose wants to share with Miss Carter one of their clauses?" Miss Keane asked when Hayley raised her hand. "Hayley Booth." Miss Keane said pointing at Hayley. "No homework on Fridays." Hayley said making me laugh. "I wouldn't dream of ruining your weekends. I love mine. Here. Let it be written. Anywhere." Miss Keane said when Hayley came over to me, I pushed my boobs up so she could right on my shirt making the others laugh.

"I'm trying to promote originality, "imaginative interpretation", stuff that gets you all the way to level ten." Miss Keane said and I smirked. "Razia?" Miss Keane asked. "Well, I don't want any books written by white dead men." Raz said and I smirked. "With you there, kid, but unfortunately that's 99% of our reading list. Miss Carter, any thoughts?" Miss Keane asked the headteacher. "I'm sure your syllabus is full of diverse and dynamic texts." Miss Carter said with a nod. "Tell you what, we give 'em a go and if we can't find anything that speaks directly to your lives, - we bin 'em." Miss Keane said and I smirked. "Really, Miss?"

"Agreed, Miss Carter?" Miss Keane asked when a girl tumbled into the classroom. "Mum! Finally!" She gasped causing us all to gasp. "Chloe?" Miss Keane asked in shock. "I've been trying you, like, all day. Answer your phone." Chloe said when she threw up into the bucket. "Do we get free stuff, Mrs Paracha?" Missy asked Nas's mum. "Do I look like charity? You're no refugee, you know." Mrs Paracha said and I laughed. "Hey, who's the fitty with the braces?" Missy asked Nas and I smirked at Riz who smiled back. "Erm that is Alya's twin."

"Don't worry, I don't go out with schoolboys.
We like real men, don't we, G, Nas?" Missy asked and I laughed. "We're gonna go to sixth form hub. Are you coming, Nas?" Alya asked and I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, Mira will be there." Another one of Nas's friends said as they all walked off. "Have an apple, loves. On me." Mrs Paracha said handing us both an apple.

"Seriously, what's so good about in here? You've got a coffee machine, which is impressive and everything, but it's still school." Missy said and rolled her eyes as we sat down beside my twin brother Cory. "We're your age, don't worry." Missy said and I rolled my eyes. "You've just all got to be dead to us cos you passed exams and that." I said and Missy smirked. "It weren't their fault." Nas said with a smile. "They're in our year, really, they've just got to retake." Nas said and I smirked. "Thank you, Nasreen." I said and she looked at me. "Dead sweet." Missy said then eyed my brother.

"Missy Booth. Good to see you in uniform for another year." Cory said and I rolled my eyes. "Got a thing for it, have you? You'd be so lucky." Missy said and I laughed. "Teachers will be well pleased to see us talking to you all. Ain't that the point of this school? To make us all friends?" I asked when Alya looked me up and down. "You're real nice, you. Loving your friends, Nas. Not prejudiced or nothing." Missy said and I glared at Riz's sister. "Please." Alya said and I rolled my eyes. "Just a bitch then?" I snapped when Nas turned to me. "G!" Nas shouted but I rolled my eyes. "What! Ta for the support!"

"Georgie, can I have a word?" Riz asked and I looked at Missy who nodded, I walked over to him. "I'm sorry about Alya." Riz said and I smiled at him softly. "It's okay, I just wish I hadn't dropped out last year." I said with a sniffle, Riz pulled me into him tightly. "How come you dropped out?" Riz asked and I bit my lip. "My ex - he got me knocked up, he was abusive and things weren't great at home with Dad." I said and he wrapped his arm around my shoulder.

"I lost the baby and - and..." I said but let out a sob, I hated talking about my past. "Ooooh Wilson and Nawaz!" One of Cory's friends shouted as they seen us outside the 6th form hub. "Piss off!" I shouted and hurried away from Riz.

"G, G!" Cory shouted as he heard me crying, I turned around and looked at him. "What?" I snapped and he stepped back. "Are you okay?" Cory asked and I ran into his arms. "Did Riz do something to you? Cos I'll kill him!" Cory shouted and I shook my head. "N-no, he didn't do anything." I whispered and Cory looked down at me. "He - he asked me about Steve." I whispered and his eyes darkened but held me in his arms. "D-Dan started making comments about me and Riz."

"I'm gonna kill him!" Cory shouted but I shook my head. "Cory, you can't get in trouble." I said and bit my lip. "I don't want dad to hurt you." I whispered and he kissed my forehead. "Come and get me if anyone gives you trouble ok?" Cory asked and I nodded. "Thanks Cor, love you." I said and he smiled. "Good job I love you too, G."

We went to Missy's after school and we were sitting in the kitchen, I had a cup of coffee. "How was school with the new lot then?" Nana asked and I rolled my eyes. "My stupid brother insulted half the school." I said and she laughed. "Missy!" Hayley shouted bidding us forward. "Oh, Mum." Missy said and looked at her mum. "Not again You'll have to chuck that duvet. Dunno where she's been or what she's been using." Missy said and I patted her shoulder when Hayley went to go downstairs. "Where you going?" Missy asked her sister. "Got to see if all my stuff's still there."

"Where am I?" Missy's mum asked. "Your home, Mum." Missy said and I bit my lip. "My Missy." Missy's mum said, touching her face. "Best girl." Missy's mum said. Dinner's getting cold down here!" Nana shouted when her mum perked up. "Is there food going?" Missy's mum asked and Missy sighed. "Nana can't know you're here." I said and she looked at me. "What's her problem? I'm clean." Missy's mum said but by the state of her she wasn't. "Next door, then?" Missy asked looking at Nas. "I best get going."
