Missy was rather quiet, something wasn't right, she was zoning out. "Missy, Missy?" I asked, waving my hand in front of her face, as Nas was talking to us about Lila. "Do you not hear me? I've been calling you for ages." I asked and she bit her lip. "You all right?" Nas asked and Missy nodded. "Erm, Lila hasn't texted me since Friday, so I don't know whether to text or, like, call, you know?" Nas asked and Missy zoned out again. "Missy?"

"C'mon, let's go to form." I said, linking Missy's arm in mine, I looked over at Nas, 'I'll talk to her', I mouthed and she nodded walking to her form room. "Settle down, please, Year 11. Settle down. Phones away, girls. What's so funny?" Mr Bell asked the class who were laughing. "Miley Cyrus, sir." Raz said with a smirk, showing Mr Bell. "Hey, don't knock it. I had a jacket like that back in the '90s." Mr Bell said and my eyes widened. "Sir, you never." I said jokingly and he nodded. "I did. I had the curtains, as well." Mr Bell said and I groaned inwardly.

"Oh, can me and Raz go for pizza after school? I told Nana we'd make "fadjitas" but they can wait.
Peppers only repeat on me, anyway." Hayley asked Missy, she was zoning out again. "Missy, are you all right?" I asked in a whisper but she didn't reply. "Missy!" Hayley shouted and Missy snapped out of her daze. "Yeah, go for it." Missy said and Hayley smiled. "Have ham and pineapple for me."

"Missy, what's up?" I asked as we headed to first lesson. "You've been out of it all day." I said and she bit her lip. "Nana's dead." Missy whispered and I pulled her into a hug. "Oh Missy, I'm sorry." I whispered, and she sniffled. "Want me to stay tonight?" I asked and she nodded. "I'll be there, okay?" I asked and she nodded again, relaxing in my arms.

I hadn't seen Missy all day when Nas found me. "Missy just text and we need to go." Nas said and I followed her to Missy's. "What's happened?" Nas asked and I sighed sadly. "It's Nana. She's dead. We can't tell anyone, they'll take Hayley into care. I don't know what to do." Missy said and bit her lip, I wrapped my arm around her shoulders. "Well, usually we'd have to wash the body, but we don't need to worry about that.
Maybe we should get her dressed. In her best clothes." Nas said and Missy laughed slightly. "She's not going down bingo."

"Have you called the doctor?" I asked Missy who shook her head. "You do know you're going to have to tell someone, right?" Nas asked snd I bit my lip. "Say goodbye to Hayley." Missy said and I rubbed her arm soothingly. "Good morning, Ackley Bridge general practice." The woman said down the phone. "Hello? I need to report a a death." Missy said with her leg shaking.

I was standing with Jordan in the playground the next morning when Candice come barging into the school with Jamie. "Jordan! Jordan!" Candice shouted and I glared at her. "My dad's had social services on the phone all morning. What are you playing at?" Candice asked and I rolled my eyes. "Jordan doesn't even know if the babies his so can you blame him?" I snapped and she glared at me. "All right, mate." Jordan said, tickling Jamie. "I thought I told you, stay away." Candice said and I walked away over to Riz who was standing with Cory.

"Look at that slapper." I said referring to Candice. "Reckons she can ruin our Jordan's life by saying the babies his. She doesn't even know who the dad is." I said and Riz snorted, pulling me into him, I looked up and planted a kiss on his lips. "Oi!" Cory shouted and I rolled my eyes with a smirk. "Your just annoyed because you can't get anyone." I snapped and Riz laughed, rolling his eyes.

"Say sorry, then." Chloe said to Hayley and I groaned. "I better go." I said giving one last kiss to Riz and walking over to Hayley, Missy and Chloe. "Get out of my face!" Hayley snapped and Chloe glared at her. "I'm nowhere near your ugly face." Chloe growled and I glared at her. "Leave her alone!" I snapped when Missy grabbed Chloe's collar. "Don't go causing trouble now." Missy said and Chloe rolled her eyes. "Let her go, Missy." Miss Keane said but Missy kept hold of her collar. "She's asking for a slap." Missy snarled and Chloe smirked. "Whatever she's done, it's not worth getting yourself in trouble for. Go wait in my room, Missy." Miss Keane said and Missy stormed off. "She just threatened me!" Chloe shouted at her mum. "Don't, Clo. There's something going on with those girls." Miss Keane said and Chloe glared at her mum. "They're psychos?!" Chloe said throwing her arms up in the air and walking away, I glared at her.

Jordan, Cory and I walked home. "You and Riz seem to be getting along." Cory said and I looked at him with a smirk. "Jealous, Cor?" I asked and he pushed me playfully. "I'm glad your back home." Cory said and I ruffled his hair. "Miss me too much, bro?" I asked and he rolled his eyes with a laugh. "Dad doesn't know though, so you two keep your mouths shut." I said and they chuckled, we got to the door and my hands started shaking, it was Steve.

"C-Cor, what's he doing here?" I asked and Cory looked at me worriedly. "No idea, last I heard he was in the nick." Cory said and I gulped. "Run." Cory whispered and I did as I was told and ran, I heard footsteps behind me but continued running till I fell on the pavement. "Running from me, baby?" Steve asked with a snarl, I whimpered. "First thing I find when I come out is that your cheating on me!" Steve shouted raising his hand. "W-we're not together." I whispered but his fist come in contact with my stomach.
