"Keith?" Lance mumbled, turning around in his half asleep state and trying to locate his boyfriend. "Keith?" he asked again, more alert now as his hand discovered only empty space.

He sat up, stumbled to the light switch, and determined that Keith was indeed not there.

"If you're training again instead of sleeping, I will duct tape you to the bed and threaten to pour goo on you if that's what it takes to get you to sleep," Lance muttered, leaving the room to go collect Keith.

He discovered him in the training arena, but Keith was not doing what Lance thought he'd be doing. Instead, he was kind of huddled up in a corner.

"Keith!" Lance called out, jogging over to him. The boy gave a weak nod of recognition. "You good?" Lance asked, slightly concerned. He sure didn't like that nod.

"Yeah..." Keith mumbled. "D-don't come closer though," he warned as Lance almost sat down next to him.

Lance raised an eyebrow.

"I'm just feelin' a lil down...it's nothing really but I wouldn't want you to catch it. I though I'd stay the night here just in case and feel better by morning."

"Lemme see," Lance said, plopping himself down next to Keith and pressing a hand to his forehead. "Baby you're burning up," he remarked, shaking his head.

"What?"

"It means you're sick! Not just a little down. Fully actually sick. It also means," Lance added, after a moment, "that you're going straight to bed and I'm taking care of you."

"No, Lance really, I'm not sick," Keith protested, even as Lance scooped him up.

"You are and I'm not listening." Lance proceeded to take Keith back to their room, putting him down gently on the bed and giving him a blanket.

"Alright...let's see," Lance muttered, going through the bedside table. "Thermometer...Tylenol...that'll do for now."

He turned to Keith who had huddled up into a small ball.

"C'mere," he said, holding up the thermometer.

"Don't point that thing at me," Keith grumbled, even as Lance pulled him closer.

"It's a thermometer, it'll take your temperature," Lance explained. "It won't hurt. See I'll just slide it along your forehead and...103! What did you do to get a fever this high Keith?"

"Nothin'...just  training...a lot...maybe someone sneezed on me at some point..."

"You've been overworking yourself," Lance determined. "From now on, you're gonna rest more, alright buddy? Now you better take some medicine...it's unfortunately the liquid type so it doesn't taste great, but..."

"Nope," Keith mumbled, covering himself with the blanket. "Nuh uh. Don't want it."

"Keith," Lance groaned, wrestling with the blanket monster. "C'mon. We gotta get your temp down...if it goes higher it could be dangerous...stay still for a moment!"

Finally, he got Keith pinned beneath him, and pulled the blanket off his head to reveal a pouty face.

"It's not that bad, I promise baby," Lance assured him. "You just gotta take a bit, 'kay?"

"You're gonna get sick," Keith muttered.

"I'll be fine...but if you don't take your medicine,  I'll kiss you and then I'll definitely get sick."

"Why are you like this?" Keith complained.

"Sooo...?" Lance asked, leaning closer to Keith's face.

"Yes, yes I'll take it," Keith burst out. Lance rolled off him, grabbing the Tylenol and pouring the designated amount into the measuring cup. Keith eyed the pink  liquid warily, then grabbed the cup and downed it in one shot.

"This is the most awful thing I've ever tasted," he grimaced, "and I've eaten all of the castle's delightful concoctions."

"You're not wrong," Lance remarked, pressing a kiss to his lips.

"Hey!" Keith gasped, attempting to tackle Keith and sleepily fell on top of him instead.

"Relax. I've got a wicked strong immune system. Now try to sleep, alright buddy? Hopefully your fever falls quickly."

"Mhm," Keith murmured, already half asleep as Lance wrapped him arms around him, holding him tight until the boy was asleep.

He felt Keith's forehead again, smiling a little as he felt it was a little cooler, then closed his eyes and fell asleep again. This time, Keith wasn't going anywhere.
