Wolf's & vampire's: the most common of the bunch practically Naturally they work normally as in any other ways written.
(Giving separate explanations tho as slight things change here)
Wolf's: their is no alpha or Omega Wolfs end up considering themselves as just a pack having no leaders to them but refer to younger wolfs as pups.
Vampire's: vampire's are the Same they just tend to kill each other as a way too show who not to fuck with Wich leads to more weaker ones dieing, their are also essentially vampire hybrids I won't explain.
Witch's: aren't as common to find as before due to how they keep themselves solo or in small groups, witches also have a system to show who's higher up and the way to climb that is practically kill a well known figure.
Angles: they have a human form and their actual form, angels don't really live with humans and when ever they are they ussally guard a human essentially being a guardian Angels.
Ghost's: these guys don't tend to be visible only to who they want or to who are able to see them.
Demons: these guys can either be friendly or will try to get souls, they don't necessarily need too they have a full form but try to blend in with others, their essentially different type of demons.
Shape shifters: they aren't seen in a very good light, they have an original forn Wich is white or porcelain skin and can have cracks due to bad diet, they at time get confused with demons because of how they actually take blood of a human.
Theirs more but this is just a basic run down of how this works

Adam:
[A bit of some cannon things for him]
He doesn't actually need to feed of a soul, he's a dream demon and eats of dreams half of the time. (These demons are seen as superior with how they actually eat away at people without a soul)
He stays in full form Wich is actually normal for these types of dream demons
(It's essentially how his yt persona looks)
When he eats someones dream he's essentially eats little as he doesn't want to leave a human husk for others.
James:

He keeps himself in a human look going off on how his parents look (Wich is difficult as he's never had their blood)
James eyes Are a two different colors but when looking like his parents are brown.
He struggles with being a shape shifter and thinks of himself as a monster.

°Finding out James had accidentally let this slip once and Adam thought it was amazing.
°Adam doesn't eat any of James is daydreams or dreams
°james has never really listened to Adams thoughts as he thinks it's a form of privacy invasion (thinks this with everyone)
°adam has actually put James to sleep a ability he has
°adam reassures James that he thinks it's ok that he's a shape shifter James feels slightly better about it
°Because Adam doesn't need sleep he's awake all night but does sleep whenever he feels like it
° due to how James has a horrible diet he's unable to speak In his form having a crack where his mouth is
Small sad facts tho:
James cry's as he's very upset about the whole shifter thing as he doesn't want to be seen as a bad thing
both Adam and James have gotten blood on their hands once and it stuck with them.
Adam actually hates being a dream demon as he has to eat someone's dreams to be able to live
James stays up at night due too how he feels unsure about a lot
The first time Adam saw James in his actual form James was slightly crying
James can't handle big emotions Wich lead to him changing his form.
