First Day of Classes

The penguins take their own assigned seats and wait until the bell rings. Rookie is surprised that there are a lot of penguins who are kind.

The teacher was a pink penguin, who was wearing rectangle glasses, unisex t-shirt with algebra numbers, a yellow open button knitted sweater, with a trapeze necklace around her neck.

“Hello class, today I will be your Algebra teacher for this school year. My name is Ms. Rosella. I hope that we could have a good year together.” the teacher introduces herself, as she writes down her name on the chalkboard.

Rookie takes out his notebook for his class and begins to write down the things that he needs. He carefully tried to take notes on the supplies he needed. He notices Guy who was also taking notes. Rookie was trying his best to not let himself be distracted by him, so he continues to write down stuff.

As they finish their first class, Rookie checks his class on the third floor. Rookie looks a bit surprised by it.

‘My English class is on the third floor? Huh, sounds pretty easy.’ Rookie thought to himself as he looked at the stairs. He climbs up the flight of stairs to the third floor and checks the number on it. He gets to his classroom and starts writing down the things on his other class notebook.

The second class wasn't that bad, it's just the same as the previous one. Introductions, list of supplies, and attendance. He even got to meet the teacher for English. His name was Mr. Chesterfield, who's a red penguin, who wears a plain white shirt, and has neatly brushed hair. The teacher explains how they will be learning poetry and listening to stories and doing assignments.

After period 2 ended, Rookie packs up and walks out of his class.

“Well, that wasn't so bad. So, now is the third period. Speaking of which, which class is it again?” Rookie said, as he pondered to himself.

He checks his schedule and was also surprised to see that his third period is lunch.

‘Wait, third period is lunch? Isn't it a bit early to have lunch in the middle of the middle of the morning?’ he thought to himself.

He gets a bit confused when he sees the cafeteria is on the first floor somewhere. Rookie decides to go ask one of the teachers where the cafeteria is, and they give him directions of where to go. When he gets there, he stares at it with wide eyes.

The cafeteria was big, it had some TVs around the support poles, drink selection section, salad bar, and some vending machines. There are also a lot of students sitting at different tables. Some were in small groups, big groups, and some were alone. The interior is nice, however outside of it looks much more beautiful.

They have a tennis court, a track field, a good view for all the penguins to see the beautiful birds, and they have a baseball field too.

Rookie stares flabbergasted at the place, until his stomach started to growl. He remembers that he only ate toast and nothing else.

‘Crud. I never got a chance to eat anything else because I was in a hurry.’ he thought to himself.

So, he decides to get something from the cafeteria and looks through the menu.

He says that today's lunch is Fish burgers. He then looks at the rest of the lunch menu for which days that they are serving. Mondays are Fish dogs, Tuesdays are Tacos, Wednesdays are Fish Casseroles, Thursdays are Fish burgers, and Fridays are Pizza.

“Huh, I didn't believe some of them had fish. But I guess I could try the school lunches.” Rookie said to himself.

He got his school lunch from the line. Now all he has to do is go sit at a table.
