The day continued on normally. After the 2nd and 3rd period ended, they both headed to their next individual classes.
Rookie still could shake off the memory of what Guy told him about the book that he read. He felt joyful.
But when he arrived through the classroom door, there was nobody there.
‘Hmm. I guess I’m the first one to arrive.’ Rookie thought as he hummed.
As he was about to waddle towards his seat, he heard a voice being called out.
“Hey”
Rookie jumped a bit from what he heard. He turned around to see that there was nobody there still.
“Psst. I’m right here.”
“Uhh… Hello? I-is anyone here?” Rookie said as he started to get nervous.
“I’m actually here.”
“But… where?” Rookie said in confusion, as he looked around the room. But then he notices a big plant.
‘Was that plant always there before or new here?’ Rookie internally questioned himself.
Rookie starts to waddle over towards the plant, but just as he was about to get too close to it, all of the sudden, a penguin jumped out.
“Surprise!!”
“AHH!!!!” Rookie screamed as he fell back, but luckily, he landed on his cushion area, which caused his propeller hat to fall off his head.
“Oh, nuts. Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.” The purple penguin puts away her disguise and helps Rookie. “Are you alright?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. Luckily my behind saved me from my fall.” Rookie said. He then picks up his hat and puts it back on.
“Hold on. I’ve never seen you around here before. Are you new here?” Rookie looked up and down at her, before tilting his head.
“Well, I’ve been in this class before, so no, I’m not.” The purple female said penguin. “The name is Dot, Dot Dahlia. But I’m currently known as Dot the Disguise Gal. It’s nice to meet you.”
“Dot Dahlia. That’s a nice name. I also didn’t know that was a disguise, but it was a pretty good realistic one.” Rookie said as he smiled.
“Ehh. I’ve been learning how to make disguises and costumes during middle school.” Dot grinned as she shrugged her shoulders.
“Wow. Like a fashionista?” Rookie asked, sounding very interested.
“Of course. You seem to be interested in this kind of sort.” She said as she tilted her head a bit.
“Well, kind of.” the green penguin said while scratching his cheek a bit. He then realized that he forgot something important. “Oh, I’m sorry. I forgot to introduce myself to you. My name is Rookie Romero.”
Dot’s eyes widened at the name which made her realize who he is. “Wait, Rookie? Are you a friend of Guy Paxton?”
“Uhh… yeah. Are you also a friend of his too?” Rookie said in confusion.
“Well, of course. I’m actually his childhood friend.” Dot said.
‘Childhood friend? Huh.’ Rookie thought to himself of curiosity.
“Well, I hope that we can get along.” Rookie smiled proudly.
“Same here.” Dot replied back.
Then the two penguins saw a few more penguins enter the classroom.
